I just run Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Screen Cast, phone hands free & text to voice plus satellite view maps through my OEM Chorus head unit, all for exactly £100 and a 10 minute install including a stealth 12v socket. The actual installation is only 30 seconds, it’s reattaching the dash panel for the additional 12v socket which takes a moment.

We struggled with the ground loop isolator, it didn't seem to fix it (it was an old one I found in a drawer) so we used line level adapters, which also aren't ideal. The bigger issue is we're getting nothing out of the rear speakers, I'm guessing I need to sit down with the loom diagram you shared and review the ebay special adapter as there's something crossed - Unless you have come across this?
@ianpgonzaga
@ianpgonzaga Жыл бұрын
Hey Classic Keepers. I think double check your wiring loom. Also is your system Bose or not ? Either way it does sound like - wiring is incorrect when using the line level adapter - HU needs fading to the rear (have you tried to see what happens when you fade left to right?) - rear speakers blown
@Aston_Keeper
@Aston_Keeper Жыл бұрын
@@ianpgonzaga yes it was the bose with a CD changer. I've seen that there are some front speaker only looms. It's had an amp change too so it's got to be the loom. I'll get on it, thank you!

Hi, Great video, a very thorough and professional install. I have bought a second hand Pioneer DEH 80PRS and intend to fit it and replace the existing speakers at the same time as they are somewhat worn out by previous owner/s. What speakers would you recommend as replacements for both front and rear? Cheers
@ianpgonzaga
@ianpgonzaga Жыл бұрын
Hey Mike. It'd a great HU and glad the video was helpful! I recommend anything 6.5" and with a shallow mounting depth. The door cards are very flat so you don't want to risk the magnet hitting the window as it moves. I'm actually going with some 5.25's because the roadster has a subwoofer to take care of the low end. I find they have smaller magnets too but great sound quality. Also I highly recommend doing the auto EQ thing with the pioneer microphone. It made a really big difference to the sound afterward. Cheers!

So allowing for the speaker depth nothing springs to mind that would compliment the DEH 80PRS? Also I am toying with connecting the 6 stacker CD player back up as was disconnected by the previous owners to suit the alpine IDA x001, your thoughts?

Love the video. I’m planning on upgrading my head unit, amp, rear and front speakers plus tweeters. Looking through a bunch of videos, I’m seeing that people are having trouble with the Bose amp. Would I need to rewire to all the new speakers to connect to my new amp? I’m really hoping not but will do if necessary. 😅 thanks!
@ianpgonzaga
@ianpgonzaga Жыл бұрын
Hey Elite. You will at least need to run new RCA cables to connect the low line signal from HU to amp. The Bose already has the wiring to each of the speakers but depending on your setup (active x-over or passive x-over) you may also need to run extra speaker wiring. Then depending on your amp you might require a thicker power and ground cable. I'll be doing an amp upgrade soon too but will run the factory speakers and sub. Mine still seem in good condition and already sound decent with the HU I'm running. The amp I've got is a Clarion XC2510. What amp are you looking to use ?

@@ianpgonzaga yea that’s what I assumed 😫 I’m picking up. 2 sets of infinity kappa 6.5 component speakers, a Sony gs 4 channel amp and 2 infinity under seat subwoofers since there no space for a sub box. To keep it safe I’ll just take off all the panels and flooring and just add brand new and thicker gauge wires to make sure I get the best outcome. 👌🏽

@@eliteculture1519 ohhh sounds like it's Gunna be a good setup! Let me know how you go - whether or not you end up using the speaker wiring already at the amp or new ones.

@@ianpgonzaga Aha, where did the map display? Or did this navigation work without the map I wonder how did u input the address Also, why did the radio need navigation specific pinout (for audio muting maybe)? I used to use this radio in my Audi A3 (also had Bose), never knew that navigation was even an option The volume broke (known problem when you move the knob and volume jumps like crazy), sadly it was never repaired (I did send the radio to local repairman but he never fixed anything'l, and I sold the car with this broken The buyer didnt care and probably replaced the radio with some aftermarket unit anyway (which is quite sad, since you cant realy add a lot in 1din space anyway, and AUX and Bluetooth could probably be made to work with original radio)

@nikolaisikes6245
@nikolaisikes6245 7 ай бұрын
@Veso266 No, you just have a little selector knob and you scroll through the alphabet selecting letters as you go. Selecting a state first, city, then a street name. Again it's all contained within the unit, so it only knows street names of main streets from the year it was made.

Is see you have 3 connectors (2black 1red coming from the car and using 1black with power through an iso adapter to the head unit and the other black one with the adapter set for RCA. So what's happens to the other Red one? My radio is now connected through an iso adapter with one red and one black plug from the car. No RCA connected so I think it currently is avoiding the Bose amp( I do have Bose speakers).
@ianpgonzaga
@ianpgonzaga Жыл бұрын
Hey rik... The extra red connector is going to the CD stacker. I do talk about it and you can see the pinout for that red plug in the diagrams. Looks like your setup is going through the cd player or stacker somehow instead of the RCA's

@@itsmeRik060 yeah get the adaptor that plugs into the 20 pin plug. That way your sound uses the whole Bose speakers + subwoofer. It actually sounds great with a aftermarket HU that you can boost the bass frequencies (if you like that kind of music)
