► Brake Fluid Flush and Bleed on my 2002, UK spec 1.8T Audi TT (225 BAM) using a Sealey VS0205 Automatic Brake and Clutch Bleeder
ATE Brake Fluid: ebay.eu/2gQ4yFx
Sealey Auto Bleed: amzn.to/2h06Ghg
Bentley Manual Sequence:
1 - Left front brake caliper
2 - Right front brake caliper
3 - Left rear brake caliper
4 - Right rear brake caliper
Leave bleeder screw open, with bleeder bottle hose connected, until brake fluid emerges out of the bleeder screw clear and free from air bubbles.
Build up pressure in brake system to aid bleeding by pumping pedal five times.
Tighten bleeder screw to 10 Nm. Detach hose and install protective cap on bleeder screw.
Repeat procedure on remaining brake calipers in the specified bleeding sequence.
Top off fluid level in reservoir to "MAX" mark (according to degree of pad wear) and close reservoir cap.
Start engine and check brake pedal travel and pressure.
If the pedal travel is excessive, check brake system for leaks or repeat bleeding procedure.
If you have any questions, I will try my best to answer them!

Suggestion: The cylinder is the reservoir for the system. It holds the bulk k of the old fluid. If, before you begin pressurising/ bleeding, you take a turkey baster and suck out as much of the old fluid from the master cylinder, this will save you chasing dirty fluid along all your brake pipes.

Hi William, I've a (!) beep beep warning light on my dash. I believe that means I too need to change my brake fluid as it must be low. However my clutch has dropped down to the floor and it doesn't comeback up unless I physically lift it up with my hand. Does this mean its the same issue and also is the brake and clutch fluid go into the same container as shown in video? Thanks :)

I bought the Sealy VS0205. On each caliper, after I was satisfied that the line was properly bled, I closed the bleeder valve on the caliper, then went to the tire and disconnected the air. Then removed the cap from the brake fluid reservoir and brake fluid overflowed and spilled on the driveway. This happened on each caliper! Spilled brake fluid 4 times, what am I doing wrong???

Top man did you not bleed the clutch and master cylinder? How did the brakes feel after the run through? Curious because I wanted to bleed the brakes on my 2015 A4. Don't know If I should be using vcds vagcom to trigger the abs system?
@williambelcher8637

I didn't knowingly bleed the clutch and master cylinder. By all accounts the internet consensus was that if you didn't let the reservoir run dry you didn't need to use VCDS to bleed the ABS etc

You know as you're going along, can you take away the pressure after you have done two calipers? As I have only two stands so, I'd have to do rears, drop the car back down then jack the front etc, just wondered if it's safe to leave on or take it off whilst I do this? Hope this makes sense just worried slightly. Normally just do the classic two man job but don't have any body spare haha

sure you can: only mind the sequence: the screw must be closed then you can take away the pressure. Never cut the pressure before closing the bleed valve. Try do flush the system without stands. Steering wheel to the right should give access to brake on the left front wheel and vice versa

How much liters did you use?

I think if you bled the furthest caliper from the tank first e.g looking from engine direction rear right then left then front left then right may have been quicker possibly. Also how much new oil did you go though? Thanks Simon

Hello Simon, I bled in accordance with the Bentley Service Manual. Could have been quicker but as it was my first time I was happy to follow the service manual. About 3 quarters of that can in the end...so 750ML ish...

I just brought the clutch and brake bleeding system. I'm going to do (Brakes) this tomorrow. However, I'd like to also do my slave cylinder. . The only thing is I'm not sure where abouts its located in the engine bay? Would really appreciate if you or anyone could enlighten me. Thanks

I've not done this yet but I guess you would leave the caliper nipple open until the bottle is empty.

A bit after the fact but for anyone with the same question, the brakes and clutch share the same reservoir and the clutch slave cylinder is on the clutch housing. Removal of the battery and its tray makes things easier to get to.

+ incorrect ~ I'm quite sure the clutch shares the same fluid reservoir as the brakes on these cars.

Cool video! But handling the cat with gloves contaminated in brake fluid wasn’t such a good idea! Brake fluid burns skin easily and given that cats lick for fur maintenance i hope the little thing was okay.
