Fortunately I don't have a major problem, just a bulb that went out. This video helped me take apart the brake light enclosure. I'll pick up a new one at an auto parts store and change it myself. I really didn't want to take it into a shop, wait a long time and pay $$$ to change a light bulb.

Hey, thank you this was the problem with ours, but we couldn't get a new Bulb Holder quickly so found a Earth Bypass and fixed it for free. Thanks again

If you check the corresponding area on the plug you'll see it too is damaged. This damage is NOT due to water ingress but down to inadequate earthing by Audi at the design stage. It WILL happen again to your new bulb holder unless you add a better earth. Lots of videos on KZbin and how to's on TT forums. If the plug is damaged, your loom will need a new plug.

I never see this I will have a look at the earthing tbh the first one lasted till now and the new one is working fine and showing no signs of any damage if I get another 10 years out of it I am happy cheers for the advice bro thanks for watching

im trying to figure this out too in my 8j. its not THAT corroded like on vid but I get at least 1 bulb error every month... cleaning it etc dont do too much... and no mechanic can help me with that rofl ;c

My daughter had this problem on her TT and it cost her a fortune for Audi to replace it. It's now stopped working again two years on and is the same as the fault I had on my BMW 320D. Its an earthing problem which can be fixed by running an additional earth wire into the light fitment. It cost me a fiver for what I needed to fix the BMW and will be getting my local garage to do the fix on her TT.

My abs module packed in a month ago. Had it sent off to be repaired, hopefully it'll stay fixed. I didn't know that tool was for the light fitting.

@@carfellauk Hi it's a 2007 3.2 and yes had a few niggles with it, but it is a lovely car. Would you recommend i change the grill to a honeycomb one. I just need the wheels and brake calipers refurbished and that's about it. I have had it remapped and a stainless steel exhaust. Are there any more good modifications you'd recommend.

100% do the front grill it makes the car look so much more aggressive it’s my favourite mod so far that and the upgraded steering wheel it just depends how far you wanna go

I’ve got Audi TT roadster same problem but back left,brought bit from eBay same,I’m not great with wires and stuff so asked garages but won’t do it or they said pay 150 which I refuse to do,so what do you do with the connector wire ???,is it easy pull out and put back on ?,

Yeah bro it is very easy have you just bought the holder if so it is just plug and play everything you need should be in the videos and the car comes with the tools you need if you need any more help please just ask

I bought both as well but only need to change the bulb holder done loads of miles since without 1 problem so I would recommend you change that first and see it u need to change the plug

Hey bro what year model is your tt? I am looking for a 2011 tt 210 hp with very low mileage 50k, how about oil consumption?

Mine is a 2011 a 2.0 TFSI with 211bhp befor the tune mine was also low millage like 60k I can’t recommend the car enough. Oil consumption is not bad at all I drive the car hard you just have to make sure you keep up with the services and just check the oil every couple thousand miles and you will be fine

Hey bro, did this fix last for you? I'm about to do the same I've bought the bulb holder and just about to fit it just like you did. I did notice on the black connector plug that one of the pins has kinda separated don't know if I can just squeeze back to position a little and see if it still works. Local Audi spe where I live is want to shaft me for this job with new wiring loom etc
