Usual hairdresser comments normally come from people who drive humdrum family cars, which just makes them look rather silly. The Mk3 TTs has pretty serious performance (300bhp+) and the ability to deploy that power onto the road via quattro etc, plus the driving dynamics have been improved on the latest one. I reckon one of these in coupe form would be a fabulous daily driver with a nice blend of abilities.

Well that's easy really, if you don't mind a 4 cylinder first comes the Boxster second the Z4 and third place this TT however if a 4 cylinder just won't do in a roadster then the Z4 has to be first second the Boxster and third the TT

Pretty good car! I remember it was my preferred car when playing NFS Most Wanted lol. It's just cool and great to drive for someone in need of modest thrills. It's not fighting to be the fastest, and IMO I think that's what appeals, its all roundedness 😀

I would take the Z4 M40i, it has in my opinion a good design and a great engine. Also the interior is great and fresh. (For BMW standard) But I have to say the Audi TT improved a lot. Great Video.

We have a 2015 TT MK3 convertible. It's a great car. Fast enough, wind in your hair, good road holding and looks good. When you come to service it its A3 prices not Porsche dealer prices ... It's a good daily driver sports car. I'm a hair dresser either!

It's the perception that it's a hairdresser car. Then again, Boxsters are for people who can't afford a 911. So pick your poison 😂 But on a serious note, the Boxster has superb steering feedback and really drives well. TT isn't bad on that front, it's just not as good as the best. On the other hand, TT draws more attention and the cabin is just superb. I'd buy the TT if it were my money. Haters (in their Kia Picanto) can hate 'till they drop 😂

The whole “the passenger can’t see bugger all” in regards to the screen isn’t really true. I’m a daily passenger in a TT and I can see all but maybe 3cm in from the left (so like a small amount of the left dial). In terms of doing actual sat nav stuff, radio, music, etc. the screen is accessible and the system is a doddle to use. Just some input there from a person who has been in a TT often.

The parking issue isn't gearbox related. There is an electronic parking brake system that engages when you apply the brakes to stop the car. It is useful when stopping at junctions or lights but fiddly when trying to park. Light accelerator pressure is enough to overcome it......anymore pressure makes it jerky.

You can also verbally tell the Navigation system where to take you. You don't have to type it into the system. I've used the verbal commands a few times, and it was accurate and worked on the first try without issues.

Great video, the only thing that Audi fall way short of the competition is the insanely cheap plastic gear shift paddles mounted to the steering wheel. BMW and Mercedes have amazing paddles, regardless of how much better or not their cars are.

Just about all roadsters short of a 911 - and boxster included - are branded hairdresser cars in Brit. The MX5 seems to have been generally accepted as a very decent sports car after nearly 30 years of being dismissed as a hairdresser car.

I don’t understand why it’s done in the UK, but in Australia, I’m not sure if it’s illegal but it’s definitely recommended against having baby seats in the front passenger seat, this is because if you were in an accident the front passenger airbag will explode out hitting the baby seat potentially seriously injuring your baby.

The gearbox isn't jerky at low speed. You hadn't turned off the hold assist (button below the handbrake one). Then you can drive it on the brake with auto creep and not the throttle like you were doing. Smooth as silk. Great car, very under rated and I can't believe people still do the 20 year old hairdresser jokes. Get over it. They all buy Mini's!

I dont own a TTS but the hairdresser comments on these cars seems to be odd imo. 😂 Any car thats pushing clost to 4 sec flat to 60 is anything but "quit zie". I will definitely be looking into a buying a coup version of the TTS or RS.
