Audi V8 quattro DTM Sound: 1990 Championship winning car in action at Festival of Speed 2022!

Brought by Audi Tradition at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Audi V8 quattro DTM is one of those cars which at first glance they hardly make you believe that you are in front of a winning car, especially considering which its direct rivals were: BMW M3 E30 and Mercedes 190E.
When Audi announced that it would compete in the DTM in 1990, anyone expected to see someone using a big luxury sedan in the German championship. As turbo engines were banned from 1990, it wasn't possible for Audi to rely on their proven turbocharged five-cylinder engine and using the Audi 90 quattro as a good starting base for the DTM car.
The car was based on Audi's range-topping V8 Quattro model, introduced in 1988 and featuring an all-aluminium 3.6-litre V8 engine producing around 250hp. With some relatively little devlopment and minor tweaks, the car's output was increased up to 420 hp, reaching around 480 hp at 9,500 rpm by the end of its career in 1992. Bolted to a six-speed gearbox, it was mounted in a stripped down shell of the road car, reinforced by a roll-cage. A key component was Audi's proprietary 'quattro' all-wheel drive system.
At the start of the season only one vehicle was used, driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck, who managed to win the championship at the very last race of the season. The car you see in this video is the car in 1990-specs used by Stuck during that season.

Hello dude. Well for my tastes all the ones you see up here are pretty nice spots. My favorite are those in the second half of the hillclimb course, from the 90° left turn to the final left corner. It depends what you prefer to see. Those I mentions are good to hear the cars accelerating properly. If you want to see some burnouts and donuts the best place is in front of the Goodwood House

But @19Bozzy92 failed to mention that the Audi V8´s were stopped/banned due to the illegal "tweeks" that were done to the cars to reach the power they needed to beat the old E30´s and 190´s.......... So, a special car, a bold attempt, but embarrassing when the truth came out.

When truth came out, its embarrasing for e30 and 190, that S klass limo beat their ass up. V8 has plane crankshaft(only in 1992 btw) due to ADDITIONAL weight penalty given by FIA. Given to like i said, fcking s klass limo, car that weighted 30-40% more than competition from start. So you are utterly wrong. In addtition, these tweaks doing almost nothing, but mercedes was cry a river about them only to ban Audi v8. What a disgrace for mercedes and 190 evo dtm. Audi after USA lemans and imsa domination was so convinced and cheeky about their quattro, that instead of making 900 kg audi 80 quattro DTM ABSOLUTE DOMINATOR, they choose their biggest limo. They literally pissed on their competition straight in the face.
