My grandma's cousin served and died in Company A of USMC 1/7 in Peleliu in 1944, earning the Navy Cross in the process. This unit has a great legacy.

I am a CPL in this ceremony. I fought in this 6 day battle. I fought with dog company. To answer your question about the civilian clothes on Sgt Brandeau had left the Corps a few months before this ceremony took place
