I bought these for our 96 year old mother, the domes in the smallest size offered were too large so approached Audien for assistance, staff were nice but only thing offered was to switch to the wired outside ear ones. Mother has arthritic hands and cannot insert the wired ones we tried them first which we told Audien, I am very disappointed that such a small issue such as domes could not be resolved and of course the 45 day is up and no help whatsoever. I recommend you walk away and find a different seller, there are many others out there that might be more understanding and helpful, I guess you get what you pay for.

Hi and thank you for the great question. When it comes to profound hearing loss you’ll probably want to see a hearing professional for fitting your hearing aids. Mist hearing professionals carry two or three brands and will obviously recommend one of these devices. That being said, recommending a sourcing brave or model is almost impossible, as that depends on the hearing loss, the styles you prefer, and of course, the budget. In general I like RIC hearing aids dir profound hearing loss, as they are usually very unnoticeable and “easy” to fit. Every major hearing aids brand has at least one good model that should work for your needs. However, a huge part of a successful fitting is the hearing professional you choose. My recommendation is to find a hearing professional that understands your needs and that you trust. He will find the right device for you. Hope that helps! Best, Dave

Dave, I purchased the Audiem Atom 2. I've tried multiple combinations of the programs and i tried all the different ear domes. I have consistent feedback - screeching is always there. It never stops. Can you help with this?

Hi, Unfortunately, there a very limited options to reduce feedback with these hearing aids. You can: - try different hearing programs (what you did) - try different ear domes (what you did) - lower the volume a little bit to reduce feedback but still be able to hear better (what you probably also tried). These are the options you have with these devices. If they don't work for you, the only solution might be to return them. BTW in very rare cases people have earwax built up in the ear canal, which causes the feedback. You might check with you audiologist/ENT, but that's rarely the reason for feedback. Best, Dave

How many decibels of amplification does the Atom provide? It seems to be a secret. Who wants to purchase hearing aids without knowing this important spec!

Hello and thank you for your comment. I tried to look it up and also couldn't find an official number for their amplification. As the FDA rule does not define specific amplification levels, it's hard to say what these hearing aids can do... But if you're thinking about trying them, you definitely can. @@hearingaids-Dave Thank you, Dave! I tried the Atom Pro 2 yesterday and found them useless. The volume level at four and five did nothing but produce feedback. The FDA needs to tighten its rules for OTC hearing aids. Providing a gain specification needs to be required, otherwise the consumer has no way of knowing if sounds will be adequately amplified. The OTC hearing aid industry, at least the low end of the market, has a long way to go. Keep up the fine work!
