OMG!! Mine just came yesterday!! $99.00. I am 71 and started losing my hearing at about 26. I can't tell you how many I've tried and had go south on me. These are hands down THE best set I've ever had! They are way better than the $2000, $3000, and $4000 models I've tried over the years. Best sound quality of any. I can hear whispers. When I first put them in, my TV almost blasted me out of my chair!! My poor neighbors listening to my TV for year's. Do not hesitate. Awesome. I live in the real world now!! I bought Audien Atom HA a few months ago. I found that they do help my hearing in quiet environments. But in a noisy environment, they only make it worse. They have no ability to separate background noise from speech. I’m back in the search for a real HA that has that ability.

That’s a tough one. Maybe you’ll find a solution with one of the higher-priced devices like Sony C10/E10 or Sennheiser All-Day Clear. Best, Dave

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to review these much-needed products. Your input is invaluable. My question is about audio headphones: I quite often wear over-the-ear (OTE) headphones when using my computer. This is so that my computer audio does not clash with TV and other types of audio that others may be using in my home. Will I have problems using my OTE headphones along with the Audien Atom?

Hello and thank you for your comment, You'll very likely run into issue with feedback wearing the Audien Atom under your OTEs. To be fair, you'll probably have this issue with almost all In-Ear OTC and prescription hearing aids. Would it work for you to turn up the volume of your OTEs and not wear hearing aids? Best, Dave

Thank you again for your reviews. I also want to ask if you have any idea how long the rechargeable batteries will last. Will users be able to replace a battery that perhaps goes dead inside of the in-ear device? Or will we need to replace the the whole in-ear fixture after the battery fails?

That's another great question! Unfortunately, Audien has no option to replace the built-in battery in their hearing aids. When the battery dies within the warranty period, you'll receive new hearing aids. If this problem occurs after the warranty, you'll have to buy new hearing devices. Hope that helps! Best, Dave

Hi. Just starting the OTC hearing aid search. I really appreciate your information on KZbin. I’d like to ask a couple of questions, please. I wear hats and sunglasses or reading glasses most of the time. Where are the microphones located on the over ear units and are they compatible with hats and sunglasses? I can’t let no hearing aids be messin’ with my style. Can your wear either in or over ear type when lounging on the couch watching TV and laying on your side, head pressed into a pillow? I realize they won’t pick up sound, but will they be uncomfortable? Are the any good in ear OTC hearing aids that are rechargeable and don’t need frequent changes of batteries? I’m stylish and lazy. Hi Maury. Sorry for the late reply. Those are great questions. Over ear devices usually have their microphones on to our near the highest point of the hearing aid. Usually that’s ok die wearing hats. When it comes to wearing sunglasses, thinner temples are easier to fit besides the hearing aid (that also depends on how much „space“ there is behind your ear). Behind the East or in the ear, both devices will be uncomfortable (the in-war device probably more than the behind the ear) and get feedback (the high-pitched squeaking sound) when pressing your head against a pillow. The easiest solution for that will be to take them out if that’s an option. Hope that helps. Best, Dave

Slight hearing loss but I have tinnitus in my left ear. I might try this hearing aid and see if it gives any relief, if it doesn't it at least will save me some money from buying a more expensive hearing aid.

Is there a way to clean ear wax out of hearing aids

Hi. The best and easiest way is to replace the ear wax filter. If the ear wax is deeper in the hearing device, you might try to pick it out with a thin needle. However, this is very risky and the hearing aid can be damaged easily! I recommend visiting a local hearing professional. He may charge a few dollars, but it's definitely better having a professional handle it. Best, Dave

Just found your videos. I'm 70 years old.. I've been saying: "huh?" "what?" and faking that i understand for a few years.. trying to make a smart hearing aid purchase is soooo confusing. Hi Chuck and thank you for your comment. I totally understand the situation you’re in. As always, it depends on the budget you’re happy to spend on your hearing. If you’re looking for OTCs there are various good options to try. You mentioned Audien and they have new devices online (I just published a video on that a few days ago). They might be a good fit in the lower budget end. If you’re willing to spend a little bit more, Sennheiser has nice devices to offer. They sit behind the ear, are self-fitting and you can purchase local support with them. Also, I’d like to mention Audionexx, who are pretty much in the middle of the two above devices. Can someone PLEASE help me. I just purchased my mom the Audien Atom One Hearing AIDS from our local Walmart. She had lost her hearing aid at a store that day so I did not want her to go out without them while she is visiting with me this month. No matter what I do to adjust them for her I keep hearing a very long beeping sound coming from the hearing aid. Can anyone help me figure out how to stop this noise because if it is bothering me from across the room it has to be annoying her as well. We have tried them on each of the five levels and no matter what they beep. Currently she is only wearing the right one. And constantly all it does is beep

Hi. Audien has a pretty good help section here: audienhearing.com/pages/help-center-new/ Basically, there are two ways to reduce feedback with these devices: - lowering the volume - getting a better/tighter fit in the ear (ie. with a bigger ear dome) If both solutions won't help, then there might be some ear wax in the ear canal. A hearing professional can check that. However, if nothing works, the hearing aids might be defective and need to be replaced. Hope that helps. Best, Dave

I bought these and went thru the one week trial and went thru the company video to get used to them. I could never get used to the poor sound quality. Listening to others talking and not hearing their real voices was terrible. Listening to music was a waste of time to try to enjoy as there was no difference in sounds.

Thanks for this video. With regards feedback when using phone, would you need to take the hearing aid out to make a phone call or does the feedback fade instantly?

Hi and thank you for the great question. The amount of feedback depends greatly on the amount of amplification set in the hearing aids. That being said, if you face only mild feedback it helps to move the phone a little away from your ear during the call. If there’s heavy feedback it might be the best to take the hearing aid out. Hi and thank you for the great question. As these devices are not water resistant they’ll probably stop working after getting wet. However, I’d they got wet, immediately put them in a bowl with dry rice and keep them in there for a day. If you’re lucky the hearing aid will continue working. Best, Dave
