Can the white wax guard be reused by pushing a wire through it after removing it from the earing aid receiver?

As most patients are elderly this is almost impossible to do with arthritic or wobbly fingers. We do need a better design for Phonak Sphere and other high priced hearing aids. I am hoping custom molded arcrylic ear domes are easier to clean.
