OMD is one of the total og's. They came around at the same time as original Human League and before Pet Shop Boys. They have tons of hits.

Great review guys. I have followed OMD since 1980 and the just get better with age in my view. I have tickets to see them in march in sunny Manchester UK. This will be my 15th omd concert. I'm a massive fan. Take care guys.

The first album I bought was their third album, "Architecture and Morality", way back in 1981. I've been a fan of theirs since that time. In the mid-eighties, they added brass to their sound and became more pop-oriented. Since their regrouping in 2007, they've done a great job combining electronica/synth and pop.

I've been following OMD since 1983. I can take or leave their American pop hits, but their early work still blows me away. I'm also thrilled that they reunited and continued to be innovative, instead of merely reworking past hits. Yes they were a HUGE influence on Depeche Mode, and one of their primary influences was Kraftwerk. As audio engineers, you would probably love a lot of their work. Know that their lyrics were often just thrown together after the song was mostly developed. Their art is in the building of the music - ambient sounds, melodies, harmonies, themes, etc.

One of the best bands I’ve seen live.

I would be curious to see how the live show works!

@@PatrickMusilekthere are a lot of videos on you tube of their concerts. Andy is a unique frontman, they appreciate the audience. I’ve seen them numerous times, since they reformed. I wasn’t able to see them in the 80s due to geography. The first 4 albums were their best, however the last 4 since reforming are very close, probably a bit more polished. These guys were pioneers inspired by Kraftwerk.

Saw them in 1983 in Hammersmith doing the dazzle ships concert it was superb.

"If you leave" was very much a US concern, being the song from that film. But they're best known in the UK for their stuff from about 80-84 and then a couple of songs after that. Andy McCluskey ran the show for three albums in the 90s and then Paul Humphreys rejoined in 2006. This is their fourth album since then.

They have released 'Slow Train' and 'Verushka' as singles from the album too now prior to the album release.

Will you be reviewing the album then chaps? It’s fantastic ❤

Unfortunately both of us have listened to the album already. I had to see if it would make my Top 12 Albums of the Year list! And I am not familiar with chaps? What is that?

Interested to know what you both thought of the album? ‘Chaps’ is just an English term of ‘guys’

Didn't know if you noticed, but Kaizers Orchestra has reunited and has released two singles so far! Just figured I'd let you know

We did a reaction to the first one way back when we filmed our Reload reaction! It didnt overwhelm me as much as I wanted it to, so it hasn't been a priority of mine to get it posted. But its ready to go! So be on the lookout!

I am not sure how to do videos with a remote guest. Screen sharing never seems to work. We could both start the video at the same time I guess, like the audio?

Hey bud, love your reactions and insight. I found your channel because of the Metallica reactions (like many people) and have enjoyed many of your others, especially Grace Potter (WOW Lady Vagabond has to be on my list of best songs ever) I’d love for you to check out a band called Bear Ghost, they just put out a new album called “Jiminy” last Friday, and I think it’s phenomenal. Easily one of my absolute favorite newer bands, and I’m really curious what you’d think of them. They’re sort of theatrical rock that verges on pop-punk, with tons of influences sprinkled in. Very eclectic, and very fun, and (in my opinion) it sounds pretty damn great.

Also I will say, Taylor Swift is one of those artists where lyrics are the number one appeal, especially if you know about her personal life/who certain songs are about. Also, she is one of those artists that tours with a full band (though I’m sure they have some supplementary tracks) and sings just about everything, every show (though she does use some tracks to fill it out, plus has backup singers) (Also, don’t worry, I won’t dox you and won’t tell other swifties about your channel 😂)

I will check the Bear Ghost album out for sure! If it really stands out to me Ill get it on the channel sometime!

Hey I just gotta say I listened to the first song and a half of that bear ghost album and it was blowing me away! Absolutely incredible thank you so much for the recommendation! I don't know if I'll be able to fit it on the channel or not but regardless it's a really awesome album and I want to say thank you again!

Hi Patrick, love watching all the Metallica videos. Please do a reaction video on the album called Sehnsucht by Rammstein from 1997. Or any of the albums, all brilliant. You would love it! Famous world band from Germany. Industrial metal with electronics (not thrash) Cheers Daz

There's a lot of Americans that have no idea that the best music is coming out of the UK and Europe, mind you there's lots of great music from the States. I'd pick UK/European music any day. Sorry but I cut you off at the Taylor Swift point.
@PatrickMusilek Жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more. Of the 3000+ CDs that I own, I would guess around 2000 are from Europe. The other 1000 I bought on clearance here lol!
