The one thing I wish Wave XL had was more outputs. So I could have stream, monitor, and recording. Don't really need more than 3s, but do wish I had 3.
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
That's fair. I personally always just recorded from OBS so it just used the stream output, but I can imagine it would be frustrating if you wanted to record a different mix to whatever is going to your stream
@tundranocaps Жыл бұрын
@@itmeremy It's relevant to many streamers due to playing DMCAd music on stream, but not wanting it for KZbin. Why the third channel then? Cause you generally want to record your microphone but not monitor it while live-streaming.
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
@tundranocaps fair enough, I always played music from Streambeats, so that was never an issue from me
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
@@tundranocaps as for the mic thing, again, was never an issue because I recorded the stream output through OBS. But I agree that it would be a benefit to have more than 2 mixes, but I feel like Unify has more than necessary

which software has 3 outputs? and why?

Scary what production level Sub 1000 Channels have now. Multicam, VSTs, lighting...

Fair point, there's a lot of good products that are easy enough to use to greatly improve production value even if you don't know much about it. Add a little bit of knowledge and I think it can make a huge difference. Even comparing my own videos from now to my videos a year ago is quite a difference.

Have you tested if you could e.g. control Unify with a streamdeck?
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
I have a stream deck and I couldn't think of a way to do that. For that to happen, Rode would need to add either hotkeys or a direct stream deck plugin, which I doubt they'll do, so I can't really see that being an option
@REPPINDB Жыл бұрын
@@itmeremy But shouldn't the streamdeck app allow you to simply input audio channels.. pretty sure it can, whatever audio channel is active in windows, which with wave-link and/or Unify installed, obviously would be "game, browser, mic, chat" etc.
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
@Patrecq I'm not sure if that's a thing, I might check though. But you wouldn't be able to control Unify itself with that method, just the windows audio settings which isn't really helpful since if you're using one of these apps, you shouldn't really be touching the windows settings much
@REPPINDB Жыл бұрын
@@itmeremy You are wrong mate. What I described, you most definitely can, it's more how it looks on the streamdeck.
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
@Patrecq I haven't opened Unify in a while so I don't know if they've made any changes. But would you be able to explain how that works? Because to my knowledge, the only way to control Unify is with a mouse on the app itself. I'm curious if you've found a way to control it with a stream deck.
@KaledTV Жыл бұрын
does the noise gate and compressor in the Unify app still work if you close the app? thanks for sharing your experience trying both programs.
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you allow it to run in the background, which is one of the options that pops up when you close it
@KaledTV Жыл бұрын
@@itmeremy But it's doesn't if you close it completely I suppose? I like to minimize the amount of stuff running in the background :)
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
@@KaledTV correct. If you quit it completely then the mic effects won't work, neither will the submixes you've set up. Because it's routing all your audio, it needs to be running in some capacity to do that. Same goes for Wave Link

Does the RODECaster x fix most of unify issues for you?
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
Do you mean the RodeCaster Pro or the Streamer X? And it probably would, I've wanted a Rodecaster Pro 2 since it came out, but I don't really have a good reason to justify it at the moment

@@itmeremy my bad the new streamer x
@itmeremy Жыл бұрын
@quantelgreen905 I haven't looked into that one very much, I don't think it'd be what I want though since it only has 1 XLR input and for streaming I prefer to have multiple mics. Not that I stream anymore anyway so it doesn't really matter. That being said, I do think having hardware controls where possible is usually beneficial, so personally I'd go for something like the Rodecaster Pro 2
@roninstormYT7 ай бұрын
oh get the rode caster duo or rode streamer x get there audio interface you can use xlr mics ? do more research
@itmeremy7 ай бұрын
I would've loved a Rodecaster Duo. I originally wanted a RCP2 since it was announced. But those are much more expensive than anything I talked about in this video, and like I mentioned, I paid $1 for the XCM50. And while the Rodecaster products do give you more physical control, they use a different software so that's kind of irrelevant to the main topic here.
