Exactly, First of all, many before Hregor explained this method , he was so late in this No technique works well with those who can't sing even after auto tuning with melodyne None before explained it for Drums Except for timing after you record then use the grid then melodyne and the result is so bad I think we will have to wait till dubler2 gets cheaper in price And even this one some said it's much over-estimated

Great tip as always, Everything is 🔥💯 in studio one. The one thing is the list browser is like Ableton. It would be better with the bitwig style browser with detatchable window and multi function options.

Hi, good question. In that case I would recommend using Melodyne to separate the pitches, then move these onto an Instrument Track. From there, assign Drum Kit sounds to each of the detected pitches. -GBY

In this example, the audio source is actually polyphonic, not melodic (monophonic) and therefore the detection mode should actually be set to Polyphonic Sustain, or perhaps polyphonic Sustain due to the reverb. But using the Melodic algorithm only gave you one of the lines, not the harmony.

Hello All. I try to use this option but when I hit "edit with Melodyne" option, it says I need to install Melodyne, however, it is already installed. The only option I can use Melodyne is by using it as an insert. What am I doing wrong or what is missing in my Studio One so I can use it. I am using Studio One 5.5.2 Professional.

Excellent tip, Gregor. I always gain so much from your videos. They're so concise and fun to watch. Really appreciate the great production you put into your videos, too. I do all my work in 48K. Just tried this with a loop that was recorded at 44.1. I ended up having to time-stretch the instrument track to match the event length of the 44.1 loop. Do you have any suggestions about a practical way to deal with the 44.1K 48K time space (tame spice?) continuum? I always manage to find workarounds, but I suppose there are easier and more systematic approaches. Thank you, Gregor!

Just record in 44.1 bro. Why do you feel you have to record in 48.1? I'm curious. And 48 takes up more CPU and most studio katz home studios just record in 44.1. From Your Boy Poorhouzzzzzzzz

@@poorhouz5051 Thanks for the suggestion Poorhouz. I use 48K since most of my audio gets connected to video. That rate facilitates better time stretching too. My CPU doesn't mind... 8 cores OC'd to 4.8 GHz.

I have found it, It's called merge event (G). I selected it, and all the informaion is in 1 midi track. now i can copy / paste all info at once.

Hi, this does work with Melodyne Essential, but only with monophonic material - meaning, only one note played at a time. If you want to use the same technique with polyphonic material / chords, you'll need Melodyne Editor or Studio. -GBY

Greg; Thank you for this very useful information. Wondering if this concept applies to a drums audio track. I have tried to convert an existent Alesis electronic drums audio track, applied Melodyne in both percussive and polyphonic modes and tried to use Ez drummer 3 as the instrument. The new generated track was completely off in tempo and the MIDI information triggered. Is there a way to to that or is it too much what I am asking. I have an audio recording which the sampling quality of the drums are awful. It would be great if I could use the fantastic Toontrack drums instruments, but need the MIDI info to make this happen. Appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Insane how complicated midi is for external midi devices to setup in studio one. for months now Ive been trying to figure out how to use my external Digitech DT whammy pedal infgront of my Helix Rack into studio one to midi files already created for program change,expression ect and yes i have a midi cable from the whammy plugged into the midi out in the back of the Helix rack. In studio one controller setup there is no CC number corresponding to program change and im pretty suyre CC:0 needs to be program change for my guitars to pickup the whammy automations but idk it seems like everyone has what im trying to setup in every other DAW except studio one. Friends of mine who use logic,cubase etc say they have never had a problem programming midi automation in those DAW's but they havent had success with studio one. somethings gotta give.
