I have plenty of experience with guitars, acoustic drums and tube amps but my synth knowledge is severely limited, so I'm not bogged down with any colloquial popularity or hatred towards certain brands or products. Ah well, The reason you haven't received one from their marketing department is probably because you've got about 63K subscribers. The consistent quality of your tests and presentations, not to mention music (actual use) is that of a 1+ million subs channel and above, often way better, so they don't go by quality of content sadly - but rather the number of subscribers. And youtube has become a very hard place to grow. I worked in marketing for years, and we always worked like crazy to find out what was the "magic" behind certain youtubers success, if we knew that algorithm, we'd be the most powerful media company in the world, and no AD bureau that I know of can do that yet, you never know what will go viral or push the buttons of the next gen of viewers. But one thing you can count on - is that your loyal audience will always come back for more, and maybe that will be good enough, I hope you get enough patrons to keep going. Thanks for your almost Duracell-Bunny like stamina and endurance, we appreciate you.

Not only is your show succinctly informative, but it is also infinitely entertaining and rewatchable compared to everything else out there. Companies would benefit to make it easier for you to get their gear. Regardless, I hope the countless replays of your episodes fill your coffers.

Directly after loopop's presentation of the fm2, I bought the mk 1 used. He arrived 3 days ago, was not expensive, has the pajen firmware and the midi out modification. I couldn't be happier. My first volca. Sounds great…however…In the mix with 1-2 analog synths he sucks a bit but manageable ".. Thanks for your efforts, nice video as always.

It’s a shame that the marketing of every relevant synth maker ignores the one and only relevant synth channel. Ok, one exception: Roland loves you, and they’re giving you all their prime products. Just stick to them.

I got one of these babies since a while ago, and while it's good, I found out my Reface DX ends up producing much better music (music, not sound). Though it's more limited in Operator size, it sounds... better for some reason. I'm not sure if it's due to it having chorus, delay and all that already in the same unit, but I tend to gravitate to the Reface DX a lot more. Also, please cover the Roland System-1! People seem to hate it due to it's aira green and not being an analog SH-101 but it's so good as a standalone synth.

@@AudioPilz I second the System 1. The main one has a terrible keyboard but makes interesting sounds. I think the 1M rack version is also really quirky.

The FM is an amazing Volca, maybe even the best? Your second jam = once again, the long-lost Plaid song, which I feel unironically rears it's head even more than the neo-80's jam, lol. :) (Third jam was incredible, btw, and I could listen to an album full of that).

If anything, this show increases the price of literally every piece of gear on it because you make it sound so good (except for maybe the GAIA, it just never sounds great to my ears).
@AudioPilz2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The GAIA is a different story;)
@Fractalite2 жыл бұрын
The secret sauce for me with Gaia is the unusually long attack and decay and the polyphony, and effects engine so for making ambient music its a gem . Some of the after market ambient sound libraries are a great start point. I wad unitially put off by the stock sounds but it really has a sweet spot for what I do.

Currently programing the Violin 3 from Brian Eno in Keyboardist Magazine onto this thing and it's all great! I have a full grasp on my sanity, and am absolutely not about to start eating the batteries out of it in a fit of rage EDIT: also this guy allows for saved sequences to be chained together via the chain function, so it's not at all 16-step limited!
