Well...I mean, "underrated" is a bit strong, I think. I think it was largely because it was his SECOND kick-ass, big name band. Soundgarden certainly wasn't underrated - people were just confused when Chris started singing under a different band name.

AK-85 the loss of Chris is how I got saved... I went down the rabbit hole realizing it was likely satanic sacrifice and ran straight to Jesus asked him into my heart and my life truly changed not of my own doing and the lord has answered prayers and shown me things I could not think or make up on my own. Zach cannot be called a singer, more like an interpreter of his lyrics, if you are actually considering Zach's voice as singing, you have very deaf ears... I like how Zach can scream on some songs but he really doesn't sing at all... RATM is a great band though...
