Not sure if anyone else in the comments have given anymore info. But I worked here (through an agency) for around a year (in fact I was working there when you filmed this). This is going to be a long comment so take it or leave it, but this is what I can remember of 'the workings'. First of all I have nothing but good memories, all very professional, very safety conscious, no major incidents while I was there, all staff were pleasant to work with. The confusion between Geodis and Mattel. Basically as far as I could work out Geodis ran the operation/warehouse and they took contracts. I believe it wasn't always for Mattel. They also had a separate area within the warehouse for Amazon, that was where you saw the Prime trailer. The interactions you had were with employees, managers of Geodis, I recognised the two men on foot, not on speaking terms mind you, several layers above me! They had about 6 agencies sending staff, doing all sorts of jobs from picking, driving PPT/FLT to packing to unloading etc. From what I gathered most people in the warehouse were agency, obviously the more responsible roles tended to be Geodis and those working there for a 'good period' would more likely gain full time roles for Geodis. Usually 2 shifts on weekly rotation 5 days a week (occasionally extra weekend shifts and overnight when needed). I worked in packing (they called it VAS) then Inbound. Basically they received shipments from all over the world of Mattel Toys (Barbie, Hot Wheels, Uno, Thomas the TE etc), store them and then put orders for various stores together (ASDA, Argos, John Lewis). Each type of store would have certain requirements when putting the order together (VAS). They would usually want a barcoded sticker, but it would always need to be on a very specific part of the box. Argos for instance would want the sticker on the actual product, so with Uno cards you get 12 packs in a box which would each need stickering an repacked, as well as the box. John Lewis required each different product to be separated on the pallet by a sheet of brown paper, preferably on a separate layer! I was more involved in Inbound though, the Uno cards were a b**c! Imagine a container with 20 odd K boxes (think of a gold bar) each with 12 Uno packs, just packed into a trailer...now imagine they're up to 20 different types and 'sometimes' they'd be 'somewhat mixed'. Now imagine looking for a couple of stray boxes (already palletised) named 130001D within 1 (if you're lucky) pallet of 130001G! Nightmare! 7:06 I actually had one opportunity to go up to those parts, some stock needed to be taken up there. Anyway there are loads of product on full display 'scattered around' the areas of meeting rooms. 8:17 Just trying to spot my bike...I usually put it in that very first place near the door! 🤣 8:22 That was always a bit of a problem, we were always told to shut the door...why it couldn't be made to shut on it's own I'll never know! It was the exit for breaks and end of shift. No one ought have entry through that door. You'd even be told that you ought not enter even if it was open (one way system). But people would often leave it open...not me! lol. 10:35 You're absolutely correct though, absolutely nothing before the security gate to indicate private property. I don't entirely know whether it is, the building to the left is also a Geodis site. But if they don't want 'trespass' they'd need to make it secure. In any case, it would always have public right of way. But like you said, no indication. Fill your boots! 17:00 I very rarely saw anyone who worked for Mattel. Never spoke to any either, other than to say 'Hi' out of politeness. It was 'known' when they turned up, you know. To be clear, again, the site is run by Geodis, not Mattel. Mattel are a contract.

The "H" on the lamp post is normally just a few feet away from the fire hydrant, and it will be on the same side of the road in most cases. In some rare cases it can be situated on the grass close to footpath on the grass verge, it will be a small rectangle cover with "FH" casted in the centre top face of the cover. The one you seen on the other side where it says "water" is a domestic water main and will normally have a shut-off tap with no outlet, however with fire hydrants some of the top covers are painted in yellow, this makes it easier for the fire brigade to pick them up more quickly.
@Drew-Dastardly2 жыл бұрын
I distinctly remember being taught this Hydrant stuff in primary school back in the 1970's, along with how houses are all odd numbered on one side and even numbered on the other. The H thing was for firemen and so interesting to a 6 year old but soon left me. The odds/evens in a nice sequence were the norm but today are a mere rule of thumb with the amount of turning family homes into HMO's.

DJ I love the way you schooled these 2 clowns.. They were trying to belittle you and you just kept your cool and ignored it and carried on.. I hope someone from above them were watching ! ! !

If they have called the police then a report would/should have been made with a reference number. Ask for it from the police "IF" they turn up. Any slanderous/false accusation should be subject to a claim against the individual making it. Demand the police obtain "their" details for possible legal action by yourself. Stand your ground as you do but use your rights to defend your legitimate actions from ignorance and malice. Being polite is often seen as a sign of weakness or subservience by some. As they give so should they receive. :)
