I watched your video as I used to live in Watford. When you entered the Police Station it reminded me of the one occation that I went into the station. My bike had been stolen from the Train Station; this is just down the road from the Police Station. I went to report the theft. My experience was like being in an episode of Faulty Towers. The Policeman on duty could not hear me through the thick safety glass, he could not use either of the two computers available, he complained that neither worked as he thumped their keyboards and he was generally unhelpful and useless. He also said that that the theft may not be their concern! He ended up writing a Police report number with a pencil on a piece of scrap paper. All this protracted exchange took place as two men were seated in the room discussing their poor experience with Watford Police. Hopefully, things have improved.

i was outside the police station in penzance last year and there was a couple of people at the yellow phone, they said they had been there for half an hour for an officer to come out to help them and had used the phone about 5 times and they were getting no help. so i decided to help them out. I took out my phone and started recording the side of the station where their cars were. within about 2 minutes, there were 3 officers there trying to interrogate me. i told them I didn't need their help and i would not be answering any questions but that they should be doing their job and helping the people that they were ignoring at the front door. they tried getting me to talk for a few minutes longer but when they realised that I wouldn't talk to them or go away until they helped the people who actually needed help, they reluctantly went over to speak to them. the couple were very grateful for my help abut the police looked like I had just spat in their faces or something 🤣

My aunt lives on a road with a police officers house a few doors down. There was a spree of burglaries in the area, police would turn up the next day or a few days later, take a few notes, and leave. Then one night the police officers house was burgled and the next day police were everywhere, and forensic vans, I heard they caught the thieves because they got a sample of blood from a thorn bush in the garden that the thieves walked through to get into the back garden. Why wasn't this done to everyone's house that was broken into? Why did they only actually try to catch the criminals when it affected one of their own?
@ardamsterdam2 жыл бұрын
It seems to be the same everywhere. We have few auditors in the Netherlands, but those that film a police station get talked to in minutes. And they are very fast with forcing you to ID under threat of arrest. But when you want to report a crime, it can take weeks. (A rape victim was told to come back in two weeks) About 90% of all reported crimes will not be solved. But write something bad about police on the interweb and you'll have four officers at your door.
@frankv.21242 жыл бұрын

I share AB's disdain at having to explain a situation that needn't be explained every time, sigh and roll of the eyes. Constantly expect to hear - 'In this current climate...' 'Due to recent events...' 'With the way the economy is at present..' Etc 😂
