What I find interesting and sometimes overlooked is that the decline in the attitude of police is mirrored by the decline in standards of their personal appearance. They are getting scruffier and sloppier and it's not coincidence. The adulteration of the union flag is abhorrent. Not only is it an unofficial part of the uniform, it's a symbol that they believe there is a division between the public and law enforcement officers who believe they are above everyone. I have heard some things about it being banned because of the public concerns about it and the potential sinister meaning behind it. If they continue to wear it every day, maybe the public should have a badge that signifies that we're against police corruption, police brutality, police bullying and everything else they do that's wrong. Maybe a pig snout with a line through it. As an ex serviceman myself of nearly 15 years and a line of service in my family including my Grandfather shot down piloting his Lancaster back from Germany, its a disgrace.
