Tally-ho refers to the 1874 Law on Street Business when the red light district of Scunthorpe was closed in the 'Tally' part of the east side of town. The ladies of negotiable affection were called 'Tallies', and the local constabulary would shout 'Tally-ho' when patrolling and enforcing the new law. Source: Trollipedia

Etymology. Tally-ho dates from around 1772, and is probably derived from the French taïaut, a cry used to excite hounds when hunting deer. Taïaut may have originated in the second half of the 13th century by the concatenation of a two-word war-cry: taille haut.

I've been watching these videos for about 4 years now. You guys, both in Britain and the USA, are definitely having an impact. I know I’m watching clips then committing, just watched the end or training ground bit. Exceptional officers with the drone. Im so pleased with that, thanks for sharing. It restores some faith back into our policing system. I know there’s good officers out there, 3 of my friends are some of those I’m proud of. Im actually going to be meeting up with one of them. We are going to have an in depth conversation about auditors and what training he’s had. He’s professional views on auditors and how he would or does interact with them. He generally loves the job, and I believe knowing before he was an officer, is perfect for the job. Always a person willing to give back to the community, and extremely tolerant. Ex construction worker to starting a successful leisure business working with young people. To eventually selling to become a police officer. It’s the mentality of a person that determines weather they are fit to be a cop or not. If one has an aggressive nature, normally can’t control it. In most auditors videos, the officers who do act up abusing powers. You can clearly see aggression in their eyes and posture. And hear an aggressive tone to their voices. Police are cut from the same cloth as us. If we can loose our tempers, then so can they. Tolerance and patients

Tally-ho dates from around 1772, and is probably derived from the French taïaut, a cry used to excite hounds when hunting deer. Taïaut may have originated in the second half of the 13th century by the concatenation of a two-word war-cry: taille haut. "Taille" is the cutting edge of a sword and "haut" means high or 'raised up'. So the original meaning might be something close to "Swords up!".

That first officer was an over aggressive little man and a discredit to the force! I know his fellow officers will be reading these comments and no doubt feel the same way about him. the others were great and how police officers should act. every up tick my comment gets is one of his fellow officers agreeing with me.

Yo AB! How refreshing to see polite friendly encounters with officers who are happy to interact with the public and don't want to abuse the authority they claim to have, fantastic work!! Unfortunately the small round officer with the 80s Tracksuit seems to have missed the memo on how to interact with the public. Maybe he was there to be trained on how to do his job correctly? Hopefully his colleagues can show him this video 😁

“A person in Authority” They have no authority “the Police are the Public and the Public are the Police” said Robert Peel who’s statue stands right outside this very training centre.

Robert Peel who wrote The 9 Peelian Principles of Policing. (Some belters in here!) 1.To prevent crime and disorder, as an alternative to their repression by military force and severity of legal punishment. 2.To recognize always that the power of the police to fulfill their functions and duties is dependent on public approval of their existence, actions and behavior, and on their ability to secure and maintain public respect. 3.To recognize always that to secure and maintain the respect and approval of the public means also the securing of the willing cooperation of the public in the task of securing observance of laws. 4.To recognize always that the extent to which the cooperation of the public can be secured diminishes proportionately the necessity of the use of physical force and compulsion for achieving police objectives. 5.To seek and preserve public favor, not by pandering to public opinion, but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to law, in complete independence of policy, and without regard to the justice or injustice of the substance of individual laws, by ready offering of individual service and friendship to all members of the public without regard to their wealth or social standing, by ready exercise of courtesy and friendly good humor, and by ready offering of individual sacrifice in protecting and preserving life. 6.To use physical force only when the exercise of persuasion, advice and warning is found to be insufficient to obtain public cooperation to an extent necessary to secure observance of law or to restore order, and to use only the minimum degree of physical force which is necessary on any particular occasion for achieving a police objective. 7.To maintain at all times a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and that the public are the police, the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence. 8.To recognize always the need for strict adherence to police-executive functions, and to refrain from even seeming to usurp the powers of the judiciary of avenging individuals or the State, and of authoritatively judging guilt and punishing the guilty. 9.To recognize always that the test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, and not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with them.
