@@secularsam7678 - This was a skewed video. Audit the Audit assumed that the couple escalated the situation to a physical altercation. From this video, we don't know what occurred away from this officer's body cam. The couple were certainly unreasonably hostile (verbally), but that doesn't mean that they became physically hostile. And even if they did become physically violent, that wouldn't have allowed the officers to use excessive force. Also, the city settling for $500K isn't necessarily an indication that they had additional evidence that showed one or more officers to be at fault. But it certainly isn't necessarily an indication that the city was too quick to settle when there was no evidence of misconduct by any of the officers. It seems that we don't know enough to make strong conclusions.

Do you also believe that Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Leonardo Da Vinci or any other person who is famous for the change they brought through disobedience should have just obeyed? They wouldn't have been starved, forced to march thousands of miles, arrested, had dogs and hoses turned on them and various other injustices that were inflicted on these people for their disobedience. However if everyone just obeyed then our world would be stuck in the dark ages still. Now to head a potential strawman off at the pass I will say that the people in this video aren't affecting any great social change on their own. That still doesn't change the fact that you are arguing we should all just obey our masters and if we did that, we'd still have slaves and we'd all still be forced to answer to the Church. In the whole video can you really say that about the back up officers. They all go over the black guy and which have nothing to do with the stop. The man is at his house. You can see them surrounded him which make the girl go over to say there. The officers even make them bump into each other during the altercation. They accelerated an already tense situation.

@OmniscientWarrior5 жыл бұрын
The cops have little to do with this case and the charges in this instance. That has to do with the DA and higher ups of the municipality. Further, the settling of a case or charges being dropped hold no bearing on if the story was falsified or not. Charges can be dropped if it would be more costly to take it to trial or have too much of a adverse effect to outweigh the benefits of getting the conviction. Sometimes, due to lack of evidence to know that they can get a convection will cause them to drop; the ability to prove something is completely different from if it actually happened (like you can not prove to me what color underwear you are wearing right now, even though you are (not) wearing it right now, where's your proof; any picture taken after right now will only be proof that you wore that after the fact). But I do agree with their counsel getting an A+, even though it could be seen they were making the situation worse and being aggressive, so not unbelievable that they made this become physical, was still somehow able to convince the people they needed to get a settlement out of court, that is pretty good in my book.
