God I miss Rebecca’s angelic voice so much… This is such a sublime performance 💜

A treasure. Rebecca Luker was a phenomenal singer.

The original Hugh Martin vocal arrangement is an essential part of how the song is remembered, and is always done intact. The second soprano simply doesn't get a big solo, and yet you need someone solid for the part to match the others. This is probably the best I've heard that inner part done, and I'm grateful to Audra for being a pro and a good colleague.

Certainly one of the best. There's one with Fredericka von Stade, Marllyn Horne, and Renee Fleming (Renee? Not sure)

Thanks For Watching! This Was A Richard Rodgers Tribute In Boston 2002
@imonthebox11483 жыл бұрын
This was a Rodgers and Hart tribute. Lorenz Hart wrote the words to suit the Rodgers' melody. Unlike Rodgers with his second lyricist partner Oscar Hammerstein 2nd, where Mr Hammerstein's lyrics were always written first, then Rodgers' wrote the melody..

Never! Hart is one of my favorite lyricists. His work is so witty and sophisticated. It's a shame he died so young.

Sorry, but that's the way it was arranged...
@Diaredd595 жыл бұрын
I know it's arranged like that but my disappointment is huge. Was Audra doing someone a huge favor? What a waste of a diva. Really. Whoever asked her to do this ought to be ashamed.
@thekenzosh4 жыл бұрын
I guess her ego is not as big as your disappointment
