I'm so glad that Jay got ownership of this great mansion. He appreciates the history.

I dread the day that Jay goes to heaven. He is literally rock solid, accountable, funny but passionate even at the cost of being silly. It brings everyone around him up! Makes them better in everyone else’s perception. It’s almost subconscious at this point, he levels the room then humbles himself!

Will Jay and Mavis’ neighbor’s be upset when Jay erects a 60 car garage just to keep his East Coast line up? What a fun neighbor to have. Jay Fricken Leno! Great guy. Why does this channel not have 1-Million subscribers? Donald is the Man.

Cars on the northeast coast get eaten by the salt they put on the roads in winter; that, and the salt air at that place would doom any autos living there. (This is just his New England "cottage", doncha' know.)
@OllamhDrab
@OllamhDrab 3 жыл бұрын
@@barrykaine6526 Usually in New England the sea air doesn't seem anywhere near as bad in effects as you hear about in Florida, it's the *road salt* that really gets you. (Though I dunno about that jagged RI coastline this way, just the ocean temperature's usually that much lower and offshore breezes dominate, generally. Probably actually being out on the water and parking outside wouldn't be the best. )

@@OllamhDrab At least on the East Coast the prevailing wind is more often going toward the ocean, not toward the land. Best to keep the Rolls or Veyron in the six car garage of course.

Is he referring to Joseph Verner Reed, who had the mansion built? There is both a J. Verner Reed Sr. And Jr. who both were involved with Chase Bank. Verner Reed Jr. was also given a ambassadorship by Reagan. Also, I think they are overlooking the issue that a mansion with such opulence was built during the depression, when most people in America were starving.

We acquired a membership to Audrain this past summer. Seen two of their exhibits, so far, and plan to visit the newest one which opened in November. Its an awesome museum. Small; and the staff running it are warm, very knowledgeable, and friendly. It would be awesome to run into Jay; but, unfortunately, he spends most of his time on the West Coast.

Also, I enjoy watching KZbin videos of abandoned mansions left behind by the well off. Do you imagine your vacation home to be eventually discovered by such KZbinrs for documentation one day? I actually hope it never becomes victim to cobwebs, peeling paint, mold, and general neglect. What do you see for the future of this grand place? Anyway, happy driving!

This series is like Alain de Cadenet hosting Legends of Motorsport. You want to binge watch every episode . I much prefer the East Coast vibe to Californication. This house still stands after the hurricanes of '38 and '55. If California coast line experienced those storms?, well, the curent coast line would be a mile plus inland. Jay should host more of his shows from this lovely coast.
