I am so happy you chose this trail this summer. Colorado is the most beautiful place for me. I also love coming up on the CDT trail markers. It’s been my absolute favorite thruhike to watch. Enjoying the CT too! You also found the ADT! Masochist is currently hiking the Katy Trail Part in your home state. You are making fantastic videos this year and really enjoying the views. Loved your Mom too

Hey North Star... On trail at 4:00 am and nearly 22.5 miles hiked in scenery that is postcard worthy, an emotional encounter with the CDT sign, in your tent at 8:45 pm before the rain starts, and still smiling--- the picture of a happy camper for certain. Well done!

The NITECORE headlamp looks like it works great. There are so many on Amazon. Can you link the one you are using???

Once you find your trail legs once (like the AT last year) - you will always find them again more quickly. Nice job. I LOVE hiking in the early morning.

Great reference to Hatchet. He called them fool birds. Read: "My Life in Dog Years" by Paulsen. It had me laughing. Nice video but a tough day. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Almost looks like the bird was a type of prairie chicken - just hard to imagine one at that altitude. Must be a grouse of some sort. A good day, in spite of the early awakening, hiking in the dark and the rain. Be well, stay safe. 🥾

Too bad it was raining when you got to the top of Georgia Pass. In 2021 I camped at the top just over the road. It was such an amazing spot. The only pass I think I camped on. Thanks for taking me along. Bringing back all these awesome memories.
