I’d like to emphasize that nutrition is key for hair health and growth. You can put all the products on your head but those are temporary fixes. Fixing my diet and realizing my deficiencies was key to getting my hair back on track. If products aren’t working look at your diet!!!

FINALLY someone who has a hair growth video NOT promoting not washing your hair!! When I began my hair growth journey I started not washing my hair as much as possible and literally it ruined my hair. I thought it was something else so I tried literally everything but it turned out I'm just one of those people that has to wash my hair at least every other day. So thank you for this video because now I feel less crazy!
@sherridillon27672 жыл бұрын
I agree. I followed that trend of not washing my hair as much and ended up getting folliculitis! I also got a few bald spots from doing that. I realize now that by prolonging washing it caused clogged hair follicles. It makes a breeding ground for bacteria and build up

I have to everyday due to oily skin, you get the response of noooo stop and it won’t be as oily but for me it’s not over washing it’s just I have extreme oily skin and my hair suffers for it, everyone’s situation is different and we can’t all be placed in one box
@vkysa01172 жыл бұрын
It depends on your hair type because mine is dry, frizzy and pretty curly so I wash my hair once a week because washing my hair anymore than that in a week would just make my hair super weak and dryer. In contrast, my mum has very straight oily hair and she washes her hair every two days and that works for her.

I started using the Reactivate hair serum from litlllextra for the past month and totally switched from my old serum since the past two months. It's been great. I just apply it once every day with the spray pump that comes with the serum. It's very easy to apply, non greasy, and without any scent. The hair growth is so far so great, and it's only 1 month only and I plan to continue to apply it.

Same here with drying! I put on a microfibre towel the moment I get out of shower, leave it on for about 30 minutes. After I’ve taken it out, I gently brush my hair with a wet hair detangler, let it air dry for about 10 minutes then finish off with my hairdryer on the coolest setting, and it’s always silky smooth and less frizzy than if I let it air dry completely. I always have this argument with others who are completely against using a dryer to dry hair, but honestly my hair thanks me for it.

The science behind brushing your hair from bottom upwards is the fact that when you brush it from the top of your head you only make knots tighter and end up breaking them with your brush. From the bottom, you can smoothly detangle them at their very tightest spot. Highly recommended!

Some hair tips I used and they worked for me! 1:Wash your hair every other day (If you wash your hair everyday your scalp gets oily and will tend to leave dandruff and will leave bald spots) 2:brush your hair at least 2 times a day (This helps your hair get rid of snarls and tangles) 3: I used a anti itchy scalp shampoo (Cause my scalp was really itchy this might not work for you but if your scalp is itchy I recommend this type of shampoo) 4: massage your scalp (this helps your roots relax and might help grow out your hair roots) 5: Get your split ends cut off or a trim (This will help remove the dead hair on your scalp and won’t be in the way for growing new hair) 6: Leave your hair in a towel after your shower/bath for at least 10 min (this will dry your hair but will also leave it a little damp and will help your hair when you brush it) 7: blow dry your hair with the cooler setting Bye!

I love your emphasis on scalp health. If the scalp, hence hair follicles, are compromised, then hair growth is too. Using a (large boar and nylon) Mason Pierson is my personal best advice. It increases blood flow to scalp AND distributes sebum (natural scalp oil). Best for straight or wavy. Taking a great Biotin supplement DAILY is also very helpful.

The reason your brush goes through much easier when it’s vertical is because the bristles align straight through. When you turn your brush the normal way and try looking straight through the bristles, they’re haggard and don’t align. But when it’s vertical you can see how they align in straight rows which makes it glide through your hair wayyyy easier.

This is absolutely wonderful advise. Been growing my hair for 9 YEARS!! and it's only bra strap length. I quit SLS streatched my washes gave up heat etcetc. Still my hair grows so slow. I notice when I washed once a week I lose so much hair, it's also a greasy mess. I've switched to Co wash and I'm going to try washing every other day, and heavy oiling once a week. So far I've noticed less hair in my brush even though it's been 4 days.

Love the video! Just a heads up from what I've learnt following the curly girl method.. it's good to avoid sulphates in shampoo however you then need to avoid silicones in conditioners as they can only be washed out with sulphates and will lead to product build up if you don't use sulphates.

My hair is pretty thin naturally and strait and not thick in density but it was long and healthy for the most part. Got layers and told the person not to thin it out even more than it was and they did the opposite while cutting off too many inches 😭 what I do now is eliminate heat first and foremost, and I found it to be the most effective and secondly adding rosemary, ginger, and castor oil and massaging my scalp every other day. I put my hair n braids and I take biotin and vitamin D and lastly patience. So far I think it works 🙂

If you use silicones you have to use sulfates.. sulfates are the only thing that can strip off the silicone so that you can deliver hydration into the hair, otherwise you get a build up and your hair, even though it's still shiny from the coating on it, gets dry and brittle and snaps off. Hair oils (jojoba, argan, castor, ect) have the same smoothing and shine effect as silicones, and you don't need a harsh chemical like sulfate to get rid of it.

The only thing that ever helped my hair grow faster was switching my diet to Keto, its grown so fast and gotten so shiny in the past 5 months its amazing. I also started taking very cold showers, pretty sure that also helped at least with the shiny part.

I’ve been on accutane for the past 6-7 months and my scalp has been so irritated/ dry/ flaky, and sometimes bloody (tmi sorry!) so I’m really hoping my hair will be okay when I go off it next week. I’ve always had healthy hair and taken good care of it but I’m worried accutane may have ruined that. But thanks to you and your tips, Ive continued to follow a steady routine in hopes it prevents a lot of damage in the long run! Thank you!♥️

I’ve been on accutane too! As of right now I’m 13 but I’ll be off of it when I’m 14, for me so far it has been around 3 months. I totally get the dry skin thing it’s so miserable! Just remember the marvelous positives accutane brings after all the pain!😂😂

I really hope accutane has worked really well for you and that your scalp gets better after you finish. Also, sooo happy to hear my tips have helped you 💗

I've been on accutane too, as much as it does wonders for my acne prone skin, my hair fall however has increased like top CRAZY! Glad this video ran into me!

I was on Accutane years ago and it had no effect on my hair and my complexion ended up being beyond anything I could have hoped for. Please make sure you hydrate by drinking lots of water and ask your Dr how to protect your joints because the Accutane will dry everything in your body out leaving you prone to joint pain.

I put conditioner on the top layer of my scalp... not directly on the roots and can go up to 6 days without washing it or having to use dry shampoo (depending on the conditioner). Does that count as putting conditioner on the roots? Legit question. Because if I don't do this then I literally can't get a brush through the top of my hair without it being a knotted mess. Do you suggest I continue to do it how I do or stop this and just focus on mids and ends? If I should stop how do I keep the roots smooth, silky, and brushable?!

You should try the K18 Molecular Repair Hair Mask! It's supposed to be better than Olaplex, because it rebuilds the entire chain, not just the broken bonds.

Yes, i found it too that unwashed hair falls more even blowdrying on the lowest setting when almost dried along with brushing makes the hair smoother

Hi Audrey, love your videos !! I’ve actually just started my hair journey and well I’m trying new things and tips such as not washing my hair for a week,using essential oils and looking at the ingredients in my hair products but I find that I’m losing more hair. Is this because of buildup, or not washing my hair as much and changing my routine quickly or is what I’m doing not right for my hair ? Should I wash my hair more than once a week ? Should I just go back to washing it everyday or just once a week? Im scared to try things and still see the same result. I have so many questions and am so confused and scared my hair will become super thin and take forever to grow to the rest of my hairs length :( I’d Love to hear what you think !

Don't overwash or underwash (is that a word?) your hair. Depending on the type wash it somewhere between 1 and 3 times a week. I'm starting my hair growth journey June 26th 2024. 30-60 minutes before washing my hair I'll use coconut oil (I can't find rosemary anywhere) and after washing it I'll leave rice water on for 15-30 minutes before rinsing out and using conditioner. I also have dandruff so I'll see if that changes... *July 23rd, 2024.* I used rice water for about 3 weeks and did scalp oiling and massages. i haven't seen any dramatic changes since it's been less than a month but my hair is less frizzy, shinier and my waves are more defined. I don't have as much dandruff and i believe it's because of scalp oiling. Also, i had two thinning patches near my hair line but now they are less visible. i can tell my hair is growing because i have more baby hair than usual. When i ran out of rice water i made rosemary water. There are a lot of recipes online so you can try it yourself. To mine i added cinnamon and cloves, so it smells really good compared to rice water. Another tip: when sleeping use a silk or a satin pillowcase or bonnet. if you cant afford it wear your hair tied in a protective hairstyle (braids, loose buns; dont wear tight hairstyles, it can recede your hairline) and oil your ends before going to sleep. during the day put your hair up because when your hair rubs together it can create split ends which prevent hair growth. That's it for now. I'll update you in about 4 weeks, more or less. bye

I was searching for a good shampoo for ages. Everytime my hair would get burned by sulphates and they would get like matt film on top. When I started using sulphate free shampoo, everything has changed. But try different brands. Some are better than others
