Idk what the guy was actually thinking, but if Viego or Yone don't scream edgelord to you, but Kayn does, you have to be biased. Characters like Yasuo, Aatrox or even Zed aren't actually edgy looking at their personality and backstory, but for the average viewer they are. I think Nilah is extremely edgy too because of her overconfidence and power, though that may be because she is a Mary Sue unlike Kayn lmao

@@ricardomilos3872 To be fair Kayn is not a normal human. He's a practitioner of Shadow magic and is set to succeed Zed as the master of the Order of Shadow. Kayn's shadow magic and willpower is the reason why Rhaast couldn't immediately take him over (and the fact that Rhaast is far weaker than someone like Aatrox). If Kayn had picked up Aatrox's sword he would've been taken over no questions asked.

@@ricardomilos3872 That is more of a plothole, if you'd actually remember the Darkin retcon which happened when Aatrox's VGU came out, you'd realise just how much does Rhaast not fit into the picture. Naafiri is inconsistent with Aatrox too, Rhaast not being able to overtake Kayn is simply a plothole. It was also never said that Kayn mastered all weapons at 15, don't know where did you get that. However Kayn isn't a Mary Sue, you don't know how to define those characters either. Those characters have zero, I repeat, zero flaws. Its apparent from Kayn's story, that although he is an exceptional killer, his ego is extremely bloated, much like it is with Qiyana: "And as Kayn’s legend grew, so did his arrogance. He truly believed that one day his power would eclipse even that of Zed himself." However for Nilah, her story doesn't frame it this way. She is just so cool and powerful and knows everything and she defeats the biggest enemies and... blah blah blah Now she, she is a complete Mary Sue

Kayn is literally the worst example to provide cuz the guy is super fucking insufferable to listen to , the only saving grace to his character was Rhaast , like viego is super edgy but he's also a blatant simp which makes it enjoyable to laugh at him . AAtrox is the very embodiment of a league player + his lore justiies his edgyness . Kayn on the other hand not only acts like a 15 yo who only listens to demonic metal music ,but also watches Andrew tates on daily basis

Proplay has such a weird effect in the economy of what makes league successful. On raw gameplay for most players(and even elite players), Id say proplay has a pretty negative effect on balance. But on the other hand, proplay creates a lot of interest in league and is great for longevity of the game. The most troublesome thing is that pro is basically a different game compared to normal league. In, for example, tft~ that is not nearly as much the case. I sometimes wonder if riot shouldnt try a few different things for pro. Like restricted formats. In, for example, Pokemon, every generation has a few different formats and the meta changes drastically whenever a new format is entered. Most of the time, super powerful legendary pokemon are not allowed and when they are allowed, you are restricted to using 1 or 2 of them on your team. In the unofficial competitive pokemon scene, all the mons are categorized into different tiers~ So low tier pokemon can still be great and have a use if you play in their respective tier. Formats like that could be interesting for league proplay. It is heavy-handed, but it forces diversity on pros and them thinking outside the box to adapt to the new formats where they cannot rely on some of their staple pro picks to be present.

That only works because there is no execution required in Pokémon. All the skill is predictive and strategic like with chess or a tcg. In league altering the format won’t result in more interesting matches. It will result in lower quality matches. Where the pros are constantly having to play things they may not be good at or spread their skill too wide to keep from getting left behind by a new rule set. League is only different in pro because riot wants it that way. The primary separation is communication and coordination. Which solo queue simply does not allow for. Flex and clash actually mirror the flow and meta of pro much more closely but since it’s not the focus there is a smaller player pool and less of the high skill players play there. This is by design and no artificial alterations of pro rule sets will fix this. Nothing short of making flex the standard will. And they won’t do it.

@@SH1NK1R01 Flex with randoms is not exactly coordinated is the thing. And not everyone has a 5 man team at the ready. Pretty hard to make that the standard. On that note, clash is basically premade 5 man teams. That is simply not accessible to many league players, nor desirable. But yes, clash - or 5 man premade flex - mirrors proplay a lot more. And yeah, pros will need to learn more champs and strategies. I dont see that as a downside, though. Id say a restricted format would likely be a breath of fresh air for pro league. Then again, there are absolutely valid arguments against that, as you pointed out. However, I don't think they are damning to the concept.

The problem with flex Q is just... it's "joke q", almost. And if it wouldnt allow any parties less than 5? Well, it'd be endless queue in all likelihood. Do you have any idea how it could be viable to move leagues coordination and communication up in normal levels of play? I feel like the toxicity a game like league naturally creates makes it a bit difficult. Tbh, my first idea would be~ moderated in-client chat groups for stuff like a 5-man, coordinated queue.

Sylas was imprisoned and chained down for 12 years, there is no reason for him to look like a bodybuilder

The bruiser item topic intrigued me. Because he says bruisers need all those stats at the same time to function. Yet we removed crit from essentially every item that offered anything other than either ad or as, never both, even though adcs as a class also require alot of different stats. Bruisers need, ad, durability of any form, and cdr Adcs need ad, as, crit, %ms and lifesteal to function. Just an interesting observation.

i think its because adcs as a class have a guaranteed late game after they scale. Bruisers don'r and also need to be strong enough in the early to midgame to catch waves alone in sidelanes. An adc will eventually get strong enough and do damage if played well, but a bruiser who can't push sides and can't get flanks as a result of those pushes will be pretty useless. Most bruisers don't really do much in a coordinated teamfight front to back.

@shubhod9569 that was the case back in season 7 when games didn't end in 24 minutes, but games are hardly ever making it past that 24 minute point anymore. So the "they have the gaurenteed late game" argument doesn't work anymore. The late game isn't a thing that matters anymore cause most games arent getting to that point.

adcs and mages dont need sustain at 2 items, mages never get it but adcs eventually do. u could write bunch of stats that "u need to function" for any character and it would be the same, meaningless "interesting observation". u literally get all the stats u listed for adcs in 2 items

​@einjharrelraca That's just incorrect unless you're very high elo, and even then. I play in D2/D1 which while not high elo it's extremely high compared to everyone else. My games almost always make it to 30 or past. Adcs do truly have guaranteed scaling unlike most bruisers (and almost no bruiser can compare to an adc late game anyways), and with how snowbally bot lane is, one of the adcs will ALWAYS get fed and have 3 items before 25mins. There's not a single game where both adcs just farm even. An adc is guaranteed to get a personal support that can peel for them or buff them , just protect them in general and allow them to do dmg while a bruiser gets jack shit and has to do everything alone. A lot of the time people think their top laner must be the one to engage fights, bruisers do not want to do that. Pretty much all bruisers want someone to engage for them so they can actually play the game and not get perma cced. Bruisers are pretty much exclusive to top, the island, so they don't really get to kill 2 laners and the jg on repeat so their lead has to count for more
