I like both the sped up and the real time videos. Sometimes I don’t have the mental energy for a real-time video but would like a little bujo inspo - which is how I felt this month.

I usually like the time lapse more simply for time reasons. I tend to watch these when work is slow and I don't always have a ton of spare time! But when I do have the extra time, I do enjoy watching the longer, more real time vids.

I think that your mix of time-lapse and long version are well balanced AND unless you say differently, I interpreted it as it fit the time that you had to dedicate. It feels more real to me that sometimes you have time to spend taking us through your planning routine, but that there are months that just getting it done is what needs doing. That's real life. Thank you for asking our opinion. I'm 50/50.

I actually want both types of set-up video - for the same spreads - and for different reasons. I like the real time for when I'm setting up my own journal and I like the time lapse for when I want quick reference/overview material.

I wonder if there’s a way to spin that which doesn’t require a lot of extra effort 🤔 I wouldn’t want a time lapse with a whole heap of me gesturing in quick time 😝

I am yet again happy I don't rely on my journal set up financially, since I purposely don't make my weekly or monthly's until the day before I need them or else I get too excited to use the next one and neglect the current thing I'm in. Hahaha :D The only pre-step I take is the last week of the month I find what birth stone/flower is the coming month, and pick out what pens/washi I'll use based on that. At the end of 2022 I found some great artwork from Angela R. Sasser that is goddesses with the flowers/gems of the months and decided that they would be my monthly covers and themes. It's made my 1st time journey much easier, and 2024 is when I'll venture into more creative endeavors (Like the Sailor Moon monthly, and winter baking (A&O stickers)!). Now that I've worked out what works/doesn't for my needs I can have fun with themes... But I want to finish off the year with these beautiful cover pages and the resulting themes. ;)

I love both real time and time lapse! I watch because I love your content regardless of how long or short is it:) I’ll just pick whichever kind of video(s) I have time open for when I go to watch. So like laying in bed or eating lunch, I’ll watch a time lapse that’s that more medium length (15-25+ min), if I need a break inbetween writing sprints I’ll watch the shorter videos (3-10 min), and if I just want something on in the background while I clean or game or to do work with I’ll put on one of the lives or the super long videos (60+ min)❤

For the monthly setups as a whole I prefer the time lapse (honestly to save time in my day). However, supplementary videos of pieces of the monthly setup (let's say a new title page idea or a habit tracker spread) as separate videos that are full length would be good too. Potentially a way to get multiple videos out of one video but still preserve the under 20/25 minute length.
@JashiiCorrin Жыл бұрын
I appreciate you putting a specific time on that too 😄💜 normally when I do a time lapse video, I just talk until I’m “done” saying whatever it was I wanted to talk about with each layout 😝 good to have a rough guideline on how long people would prefer for that

I really like seeing these flowery PET tape centric layouts from you, they are very inspirational for me right now as I too am in a bit of a creative slump when it comes to my bujo's decoration. :) As for the question, I prefer these time lapsed videos as my ability to concentrate on one thing for a long period of time has been pretty poor lately. These time lapses are just long enough that my focus doesn't wander and I can fully enjoy the entire content. 💜

Other than my bujo, I paint as a creative outlet and oh yeah, when I try to draw an outline or go straight into painting when I’m in that slip it is disastrous! 😬 (Same with my bujo) i know when I need to use stickers/ washi and when I can actually draw something!

@@Karen_Tries It's my 1st run at journaling and I'm using someone else's artwork to inspire the themes, and have reduced my doodling/painting/etc to when I can't find stickers of the monthly flower amongst my too-big pile of stickers I got strictly for journaling. ;)

I personally find videos between 12 and 35 minutes best, I find myself not wanting to take more time in everyday life. As an example Torryn Marie here on KZbin splits her Plan with me‘s in the first few pages and another for the mind map and weeklies. (At least she used to not sure right now)😊
@JashiiCorrin Жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s a nice and flexible time range 👏 I do find that if I split setup videos like that, the second one gets far fewer views than the first 😝 I think I prefer having them all in one just so it feels “complete” 🤔 but I can see the value of the split if the video is a bit long

I really need to figure out the reflection/review stuff. I want to but I feel like my brain is empty when I try. Have to find out what's blocking me. Perfectionism maybe?
@cvvzdesigns Жыл бұрын
I feel like perfectionism would drive the review harder, because you can write down the things you're judging too hard/feel aren't good enough or need to be changed, and in doing so you're reviewing what you've done so far and start to see the patterns that either work, or don't, for you. :)
@kattystock Жыл бұрын
I'm just setting up my first monthly review now and I took 6 months to really narrow down what I want to review/why. I love reading so having a book tracker of some variety would be great (I can already think of a way I'll improve for next month); the Favs section I picked 4 topics that I know I'll have content to fill (I took away gaming and mixed it in with movies/shows into Media so I would always have something); I was having trouble with trackers because I track habits weekly not monthly so I put challenges instead. Then a section for current events and memories. I'm not saying that'll work for you but maybe list out on sticky notes all the bits you are interested in and then really say "will I use this, will this be a burden to fill in, etc.." Either way good luck on the Bujo journey!!
@JashiiCorrin Жыл бұрын
What type of a review were you trying to do? 😊 Was it mainly for goals, or something like a planner review, finances, etc? I find a lot of the time with my reviews is that I have the most difficulty when I feel my answers have to be "big". Or for instance, if I'm writing down challenges from the month, I sit there trying to think of the really hard-hitting or "impressive" challenges (not the right word for it, but hopefully you get what I mean). Checking myself, and taking away that "high bar" restriction can help me get started.

Hoping you feel more inspired soon. And while I am positive I know nothing about anything, I do wonder if being in this travelers size is feeling too restrictive and limiting.

Love your videos, but unfortunately don’t have the time to watch the real time videos, therefore I thoroughly appreciate and enjoy the voice over videos. You explain everything eloquently and I rarely if ever find myself needing further clarification. I am curious about some thing though. I’ve noticed that some creators start their monthly set up with a cover page, which makes sense to me because it signals the beginning of the month and is my personal preference. Other creators, including you, have a projects/colander/other page BEFORE the cover page. I was curious about why you set up your pages this way around.
