If the audio is playing only in your left ear for this and you want to fix it (this works for pretty much all devices I think) you can search for Mono Audio in settings and turn it on. I would recommend turning it back off when you’re done tho.

The language is actually called Scots, a relative of Modern English that we are using today. It is distinct from Scottish Gaelic, itself a relative of Irish language.
@atozed9322 жыл бұрын
@Candice Lynn Irish is a shorter way of referring to Irish Gaelic.
@atozed9322 жыл бұрын
@Candice Lynn Irish Gaelic is the same as Irish. Gaelic is a name for a set of similar languages (the Goidelic languages) which includes Irish, Scottish Gaelic, and Manx. Scots is from the Germanic language family, but Scottish Gaelic is in the Celtic language family.

Indeed. It is different to Gaelic. And it is twinned with Irish Shelta I think

My stepfather passed away February 2020, not long ago. I came across this song wanting to learn the lyrics as well as play this on the guitar some day. This song made me remember him a bit and nearly made me tear up listening to this. And seeing the thumbnail of LOTR Frodo and friends holding cups in cheers made me think of him even more since he got me into lord of the rings lol. Love this song and hope to sing and play this one day, I'm sure my stepfather would love me to since he enjoyed hearing me play the guitar... May he rest forever and enjoy his new life up above somewhere

Thank you so much for your version with the original Robert Burns lyrics! That has been so hard to find, as many feel they can modernize or improve upon the poet's words. But I think not - it's perfect as written. And if Scots English sounds a bit foreign to modern ears, then listen again and again... you'll soon pick up the beautiful rhythm. :)
@Kate-nt6bjАй бұрын
Sabine has not quite got the pronunciation of a couple of the Scots words, ie 'auld' - which in Scots is pronounced as in all-d, not o-ld, lang syne. Also, we 'poo'd the gowans fine' rather than pow'd, There are a couple of other words she's not quite picked up on. She does a VERY LOVELY job of getting it, nonetheless. As a Scot, living in Scotland & hearing the 'Scots' language (a language of its own) around me every day, I find Sabine's version very easy and enjoyable to listen to. A wonderful voice, singing a beautiful song. Thank you, Sabine. You did good! PS: On doing my family history, I was tickled pink to find Rabbie Burns is my 2nd cousin, 7x removed. 😉😃

Finally I find one that's the right mood. Not trying to show off one's singing capability. Just to deliver the world and the melody. Which are sufficient enough. Was looking for one that's joyous and professionaly-produced but this will do. Not quite joyous but I can feel the messages delivered clearly. Thank you!! Happy new Year everyone. I know it's still a few days away but I'm looking for something to send off someone before the year changes.

@@williammoran2992 Scottish English is a dialect of English, Scots is a separate language closely related to English. They're not really that similar, but I guess that depends on where you draw the line lol
@williammoran29924 жыл бұрын
@@julianivanov3058 True, it depends from where you draw the line. But such lingustic relationship can be described by terms basilect(Scots),mesolect(Scottish English) and acrolect(English in general). Where Scots is a private dialect and English is the official dialect. Scottish English meanwhile, is a nonspecific combination of the two . But in my opinion, both views have their strong points.

"Auld Lang Syne" is originally a poem by Robert Burns who was a Scottish Poet and Lyricist. The music and the vocals are provided are performed by Sabine Ehrensperger.
