You can't upload a GIF on Instagram, but what you can do is convert your GIF into an MP4 format and then you'll be able to upload it. I use ezgif.com/gif-to-mp4 to convert :)

if you are adept at using animation frames already, then it might be quicker for anyone reading this to reverse this process. so rather than putting on a mask then unmasking blind on each frame, you could apply the mask on each frame little by little. so you would essentially be "erasing" the writing instead. just remember to put the frames underneath when you duplicate them.

This was a great video! I have some questions if you do not mind! 1. In your intro, the letters in the animation has a shadow. How do you add a shadow to the letters? 2. What brush did you use for your text? Any recommended settings for it? Thank you ✨

Thanks! I just added the shadow at the beginning and did the exact same process (simply hide both the text and shadow at the same time). For the brush I used my "Pen - Marker" from my Retro Sign Toolkit aureliemaron.com/shop/p/retro-sign-toolkit-for-procreate

A gif will always loop. You can use an app like ezgif.com/loop-count to change the loop count of your gif.

Loved the vid! But I found that you can’t animate the test with color tho, it only shows gray version of the color Can you do a tutorial on how to animate text similar to the technique you used but able to put color other than either and gray? That would be really helpful :D

Hey! You should be able to use any colour you want for your artwork and animate it regardless. Maybe check that you are in the correct colour mode or that you have enough storage on your iPad. You should ask Google if that doesn't work :)

I’m not following correctly or your Procreate version is so far ahead or behind mine I won’t be able to follow. First of all I need to know how you made the word momentum. Where did you make it how did you make it? What tools did you use in Procreate to make word momentum and when I went to make my layers and follow exactly what you were doing on screen. My version of Procreate would not do that it didn’t want to do anything that you were doing on your version so that’s a problem trying to animate the words Merry Christmas I guess I’ll just get the handbook out and read that because nothing you’re showing me is the way you say it should be working

You do the exact same thing, except you don't use a coloured background. You will be working with the text layer only (and no need to create groups!)

Hey! It is not necessary to draw by hand, you can use an existing font (like Snell Roundhand or Zapfino) or install any script font to your Procreate app. The letters need to connect in order to create that handwritten effect :)
