I’m incredibly late, but the continuation is “To the Bottom of the Sea.” Not sure if this is considered spoilers or not, but there’s the preface: the ship was attacked by monstrously-sized squid or octopus, hence the cover art. The captain is probably just sounding off what most people will do: write off the ship as lost to the weather. “This Sea” talks about his wife’s response to him never coming back, along with further context for why he took to sailing in the first place. Enough of my pedantic essay, do enjoy the music

I always assumed This Sea ends when this song ends. With one of the sailors, either the captain(singing this song) or the cabinboy with his letters, clinging on to a piece of driftwood for dear life. Given the whole "lost, adrift at sea" and "it's getting cold" bits.

He shifts the blame "all on account of the weather." During a part of the song, one of the "Seaman Shaft had found him a raft and was makin' a speedy goodbye ." but because the captain is "At the risk of sounding absurd, I have always been good as my word", he threw a spear and it ended up "lancing into his eye, And I knocked his ass overboard!" The captain is saying "As the ship goes down, all on account of the weather, though we'll drown, there's no need to frown cause we're all going together" so that his crew accepts their fate with him, feeding into his power fantasea.

So, this song is used as part of my DnD characters backstory. He was a pirate and is the lone survivor of the ship being caught in a sudden magical blizzard. There were two rafts, and while the captain saw Shaft’s raft, didnt notice the one my character was on. And you can be certain we will hear the song for when he eventually returns to where the ship is to collect the treasure.

Tbf, I like having the music on here. Because I find with the previews on iTunes don't do the songs justice. Went to a gig of another band and previewed their albums and was thinking 'I'm sure they sounded better at the gig'. Found their songs on KZbin then subsequently bought their albums. It sucks people steal music, but for an Artist like Voltaire, and other bands I favour, I will gladly buy the albums to help support them.
