Nathan is definitely correct about Aurora, she has said many times that she spent so much time in the forests as a kid, the forests was just outside her house and it was safe to walk in there as a kid. Here are quotes from articles: "After school she was most often out in the woods until her parents called her home for dinner with a bell." "I have a favourite tree. I live near a mountain, and if you walk over it, walk down again, then there is the next one - and at the top of the second mountain behind my house - which is a 2 hour walk away - there is this beautiful tree. It’s really old and beautiful, and it’s on the top of a mountain, so it can watch everyone."

There should be nothing political about the message in this song, as it should be a bipartisan issue. Unfortunately, we have dopes in government (on all sides and in many countries) who couldn't navigate the abstract of a formal scientific paper, let alone the full paper/study itself. When all we have are alarmists VS denialists, we're never going to make progress on the issue. That being said, Aurora is incredibly good at conveying a good message with great passion.

Thing is, is it should be more political. Our elders have let greedy ceos and politicians put profit on a pedestal instead of the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. Our representatives are not thinking of their constituents lives all over the world. They keep destroying the natural world for profit and it’s straight up immoral and we need to talk about and band together and learn to live as a modern society while taking care of the natural world instead of poisoning it and ourselves. That’s what this song is about. When the last tree has fallen and our rivers are poisoned, we cannot eat money.

And you’re right, Aurora spent a lot of time alone in the forest growing up, now she’s mostly on tour, but she seeks nature when she can🌲🌍❤️ She’s not a fanatic, and she says not everyone can be Greta Thunberg😊 Funny story: “I went to Tom Rowland’s (Chemical Brothers) house and forgot to order a hotel m, so I got to stay in his attic. It was beautiful. His daughter had a birthday, so I was kind of crashing her party so I said ‘No, it’s OK - I will go out for a walk in the woods while you celebrate. But I was out for like five hours and they were really worried. There’s no reception there so they couldn’t call me, so I think I made the birthday worse. I was out in the forest in the night and it was really dark too and I just disappeared. You guys have GOT to watch her performance of Lucky live at Nidarosdomen. Any time I want to turn someone on to Aurora, and I know they'll only watch one video, I send that one their way. It's dark and eerie in the verses, uplifting and cathartic in the choruses, and overall just has a very emotionally raw and powerful vibe to it. It's more or less about pushing through very dark feelings, extreme depression, and the cathartic rush that comes when you finally, maybe for the first time in years, feel hopeful and alive again. Her song The River expresses a very similar sentiment. But that Nidarosdomen version of Lucky is hands down the one to watch. Noticing what you guys do and don't like....I already know you're going to love that one.

I love this song. It it beautiful and has strong message too. Video and her interpretative dancing is also so cool. And about your discussion and 2 topics: 1) yes she spend a lot time in forest and she love to spend time in nature. She is also inspired by nature. 2)about popularity. Aurora is great and very talented artist. But I think she is not "mainstream", her lyrics need to be interpreted and usually not trivial, often poermtuc and it has message. It make you thing and/or feel. She is also not from "big market" like USA etc, English is not her native language and she not pursue fame. I think she is somewhat popular (hard to tell me how much) and have supporters all over the world only because her talent. I think she should be much more popular but from other point of view I am almost sure (based on her personality, interviews etc) she would not want to be like "pop star" and would not be happy with such life. She even said famous is strange and not health thing. She just want to do what she love (make music or other art) and also I think she wants to talk about important things for her (and generally for people/earth as she see it) . And of course her fans give more meaning to her message.
