Aurora only sang this song once, at her friend's funeral. It ended up on KZbin, and after learning how many people received solace from it, she decided to let it stay. Here is what she had to say about it: (from the Aurora Wiki fan page) AURORA dedicated this song to a friend who died from a car accident in 2014. She sang it at her funeral. She's said the following about the song: "It's important for the song to cry. That it is reminiscent of grief while it can relieve a little. This song is {NAME REMOVED FOR PRIVACY}'s song. And it always will be. I only had her in mind when I sang it in, thinking that a small part of her is in it if you listen extra well." The visuals are fan-made from Auroa docos. And, yes, the first time I heard this, I was a hot mess. It still tears me up, even though I know the song well, now. Yes, she accompanied herself on the piano.

AURORA ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I have no words, only tears🥲❤️ Yes, It sounds like she’s playing piano herself. When she was 6, she found an el. piano in the attic. She took it down to her room and started playing. She had to hold the power button in, so she learned playing with one hand in the beginning. She started making music without lyrics at 6 years old, and with lyrics, English, at 9. Nobody knew about this until Aurora was 13, then she finally told her parents. She didn’t sing in front of them, cause she was too shy. So they had to listen in other ways 😅❤️ She didn’t want to be an artist. It was her mom that said she actually could help people with her music, and that’s why Aurora became an artist. If you look at older videos, she’s very uncomfortable, and she doesn’t know what to do with her hands/arms. Now she is much more comfortable with people and the audience, so now she looks beautiful when she expresses herself through her body 🥰❤️

She's actually lost 3 people in her life. One was her close family friend at age 11. Which eventually gave Aurora a stutter in her speech. She then got into sign language due to that and found a friend in her class. Lost in the car accident. But later she lost someone she was apparently dating. This was before she was well known. He died in the Utoya massacre. The terror attacks that hit Norway in 2011. For which she wrote the song. "Little Boy in the Grass" This girl has been through some really heavy crap for being such a pure soul.

Go listen to/watch The River to understand why we all support you crying. So I think that Aurora is a genius at understanding and communicating emotion. And this means all emotions. You have watched quite a few of the ones that make us cry. But there are many that make us feel hope, exhilaration, even lust! My favourites are actually the ones that make you feel like you can take on the world: Daydreamer, Queendom, Warrior, All is soft inside and --one you've done--The Seed, which for me is a call to action - like tribal war drums.

On first listens I just cried (although it was video only with her just standing and looking - you see only her back which had even bigger effect on me as pictured did not distract from the song). It was performed only once on funeral of her friend and later it was leaked as far i know from this family (as they asked to send recording of the song and then put it on social media).

Perhaps this song are results of last conversations Aurora had with her friend as her friend was in the process of moving on after her physical death but not a "spiritual death"? This becomes only a memory with the passage of time. Perhaps this accounts for the lightning of the tone? A thought but not a total foreign experience.

Oh, why did you have to go a place where I couldn't follow? So don't, don't wake me up 'Cause I only see her in my dreams When I fall asleep She broke her wings Can no more fly There's a part of the universe A shining star upon the sky She's looking down upon you She wants to say that she is fine Maybe she's there at night And she whispers "Darling, it will be alright." Oh, but why did you have to go a place where I couldn't follow? Oh, why did you have to go a place where I couldn't follow? Honestly, not my favorite, but it wasn't meant to be released. For what the song was written for, its very touching and beautiful. Just not something I'd listen too often. Upbeat suggestions: All is soft inside from KEXP I Went to Far (Live from the Honda Stage) The River (MV) Queendom (MV) Little Boy in the Grass (Nidarostaman) - song is up tempo though the subject is very serious. Fun Covers: Imagine Dragons "Believer" David Bowie "Life on Mars" (Pick the one where she plays the piano.) Beatles "Across the Universe" Ariana Grande "God is a women" And of course The Haik Documentary and Concert for the deepest Aurora dive.

Just a note on Aurora Content. Not to get to heavy into controversial topics, but I know you are of the same beliefs as me. Aurora leans heavy into LGBTQ+. As a Christian I don't though have a problem with that, as she does so in a loving way. Stressing that folks should not be judged, or looked down upon for what they believe or who they love and instead accepted and loved. I couldn't agree more. She is openly Bi and I'm openly Christian, though she is still my favorite artist and I think that's how it should be. I think she would agree. We are too quick to divide, label, and choose sides. When deep down were all the same no matter what we believe. We are humans who want to be loved and to love. I would have preferred to send this privately but as this is the only way we can communicate I posted it here. I know that you desire to keep this channel about the music and not get into anything controversial. But I just wanted to prepare you for it, as some of her songs and videos will make it obvious.

I don't know if you already know her, otherwise you'll hate me for adding another singer to the list :p If you never heard her you should absolutely react to Lara Fabian She's one of Dimash's greatest inspirations and watching her would give you an insight on what he tries to do with his operatic delivery and why it doesn't really work. No worries she doesn't do operatic, she does feelings but in a very different way than Aurora or Angelina. Here is one of her masterpieces, it's a cover from a french singer/songwriter Sarge Lama called "Je suis malade" and there are subtitles so you can understand the lyrics kzbin.info/www/bejne/mofZnaCmpJqab80

Dimash’s Qaragym Ai 2020 (apple of my eye) was performed in dedication to the loss of his mentor/composer due to Covid. Probably his most heartfelt performance.

@@larryshair Just please take into account that because of COVID there is no live audience in this performance either. In my opinion, it doesn't take one bit away from the emotional and moving delivery, but just to let you know that there can be no interaction with the audience there.

Aurora does not have a huge range, Aurora is not a perfect vocalist, Aurora is a novice pianist..... then why does it all ad up to fantastic?? It's like she manage to get 1+1+1 to be =100..... She does it with dept, fealings, heart and sole.... But in this shallow world she will never get the attension that she deserves.... oh well.... it's their loss.....we know....

Aurora is a wonderful singer. You've reacted to three great artists so far and Dimash is my favorite of them. I would like to suggest a few other singers to explore: Hua Chenyu - one of the most popular singers in China. He's a chameleon and you never know what to expect from his next song. A very versatile artist who sings all kinds of genres. A good start would be his song Nunchucks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/on3WXmN3Zd54q6M Then there is Zhou Shen, another Chinese singer and buddy of Hua Chenyu. His voice didn't significantly change during puberty. Still sounding like a girl in middle school he was discriminated by classmates. But he made his uniqueness his strength and is now also a very popular singer in China. I recommend his magical duet with Sa Dinging "Upwards to the Moon": kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWKuqIOnl7WDa9E And finally there is another one of my favorite singer (and dancer, songwriter and choreographer): Loïc Nottet from Belgium. He experienced bullying as kid/teenager because he was different. He has a high speaking voice (a girly voice) and he wasn't interested in the usual boys' stuff like playing football but instead he liked to dance. His most popular song is "Million Eyes": kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGmon31_ia1ga7M

Tissues are recommended for Million Miles by Angelina Jordan too. Though her cover of You are allways on my mind is even more emotionnal. You've been warned. 😉
