After a while of listening to and reading the lyrics, I'm starting to believe that the "she" Aurora is singing about is mother nature, it makes a lot of sense ^^ "stealing from the trees of Eden" (fairly self explanatory), "we cry for those you burned beneath the flame" (perhaps alluding to the wildfires that have ravaged the Earth), "everything you touch will be hers" (referring to the damage we leave that she has to deal with), "a mother with no heart will give love" (she is a metaphor, and by saying nature is a woman, it highlights how she cares for the things she creates, everything fits perfectly into place, animals, without knowing it, help each other to survive, and it's all because she has made it that way. She is not a human, she has no heart, but she is a presence that offered the perfect world to us), "her love is yours but only if you give your heart to her" (we must care for the world, allow mother nature to return to her duties without negative interference from humans, and we will be rewarded with a healed world). This is how I interpreted it ^^ After looking through the replies to my comment, I understand that my interpretation of it is not what Aurora intended! Still, it is still a beautiful song, regardless of which way you interpret it

Lyrics She bargains with the world So everything she wants will come to her With no greed inside her mind She knows what she deserves We fell from sky with grace And landed in her soft and warm embrace She gave her love, her gift of life So we could live with her That is why we live like heathens Stealing from the trees of Eden Living in the arms of freedom And everything we touch is evil That is why we live like heathens The stone, the dirt, the dust The unforgiving promise made to us Unworthy of your light, your god, your touch We're guided by the lust We cry the fallen names We cry for those who burned beneath the flame We stand besides the good and brave The broken and enslaved That is why we live like heathens Stealing from the trees of Eden Living in the arms of freedom And everything we touch is evil That is why we live like heathens Everything you touch Will be Hers Our mother with no heart Will give Love Her love is yours But only if you give your heart to her That is why we live like heathens Stealing from the trees of Eden Living in the arms of freedom And everything we touch is evil That is why we live like heathens That is why we live like heathens That is why we live like heathens
@victoriaalejandra13973 жыл бұрын
i love the song and its lyrics so here's my interpretation of the song: it's trying to represent the church's vision of the people who 'committed the sin' ,the lyrics "unworthy of your light, your God your touch" talk about how if you're a 'sinner' you don't deserve any of these, you have to live like a heathen. "We cry for those who burn beneath the flames" is a reference at the church's punishment for sinning in old times. Also, it talks in an empowering way how Eve gave everything she had to get what she deserved. She's trying to erase this 'procreation is bad' concept created by Christians

As a Christian, it breaks my heart to know that many people think God is evil because of how some who claim to be faithful behave, and it pains me to know how some people become sad and turn away because of this. The Lord Jesus Christ told His followers to preach the gospel to every creature, being examples of love, discipline, and faith. However, over the centuries, many atrocities have been committed by those who call themselves children of God, but in fact are not. Let me make one thing clear to you: Christ made it clear that all of us, whether Christians or not, are sinners. He came for us and died for us. What does “Christ died for us” mean? To say that Christ died for us means that His mission was to be incarnated and suffer, being punished and receiving the punishment from God that we deserved in Him. All of God’s punishment, wrath, and justice that humanity deserved because of their sins were cast on Jesus. However, Jesus, the Son of God, conquered death and hell, giving the right to all those who believe in God, in Him and in the sacrifice of the cross to be called children of God. The children of God have a promise: The inheritance of eternal life with God. Eternal life consists in knowing God. In not dying and living with Him, in glorified and perfect bodies, better than the ones we live in today, eternally, in life, peace, joy and love. The duty of a Christian is to preach the need to repent of our sinful practices, however, we cannot leave this aside in any way: Christ came to save us from sin and hell. He came to free us and reconcile us with God. I love you all, and I sincerely hope that the sweet Holy Spirit of God illuminates your lives, because, as I said before, my heart aches to see another human being, like me, confused and lost, far from the light of God. Bonus: The story of Adam and Eve tells of God giving them a command, but they disobeyed. Disobedience to God resulted in sin. It was not an act of courage or independence, but of immaturity on the part of both Adam and Eve.

The more I listen to this song the more I love it. Aurora you are the most beautiful soul. from my understanding its about how women fell from grace after eve stole "from the trees of eden" but when we fell we were embrased by nature and despite having no heart she gave us her love. And that is why we live like heathens. But because this is our wonderful Aurora there are layers. In the beggining of the song she talks about nature bargening with us without greed "she knows what she deserves" (also can be linked to women fighting for equality). And at the end she says "her love is yours, but only if you give your heart to her" Here nature is bargening with humanity to give back, We have taken too much. When Aurora sings about the burning of witches and the fallen it also mirrors the crimes we have commited against nature. She still offers her love, it is ours, but we need to give her our hearts and start protecting our mother in return for the love she gave so freely. Thats what I got form it anyway. Auroras music just keeps getting better, this girl is magic xx

I liked the whole song especially the phrases: "we cry the fallen names we cry for those you burned under the flame we are beyond the good and brave, the broken and enslaved" "everything you touch it will be hers. A heartless mother will give love her love is yours but only if you give your heart for her" There is a lot of history, in those few words, not only Greek, but of so many who lost their lives for having their own beliefs. Also the second part is how I feel every day, people trying, in addition to buying my body, they want my soul, they only give love if I give my soul and forget what I am and believe. Of course it's my interpretation, but it's what it felt like to hear this song, which fits like a glove in my life.

for me it's about how we treat 'mother'earth. How we exploid the very thing that created us in the first place, the one thing that gives us everything we need to surive yet we chose to be greedy by wanting more than we need and hyprocritical by morning some people while we enslave others and how in the end we turn to dust and become a part of her again. Oh my goodness.... Aurora is just incredible. This song speaks to my soul, touching my soft, yearing heart in all of the right ways. I deeply love the earth and all its dwellings, such maltreatment just strikes me down and cuts me up. This song is eerie yet pure, dangerous yet endearing. It just feels like an angel reaching down and asking why we are this way. Thank you for inspiring me today, Aurora.

I think this is one of your most beautiful songs. Though all of them do, this one really touches me. The depth in the lyrics and the tone and softness of her voice is amazing. I love it so much and it now one of my favorites🤍🤍🤍

Of course, Lyrics Like this are always open for individual interpretations, but as a pagan who grew up in a strict christian family and clashed hart with some Family members about this matter...lets say, these Lyrics spoke to me.

Let us see: today is Dec 5th so there are still 42 days to wait until your album will be released. I can't recall the last time I anticipated something so much as this. In the meanwhile I am grateful of every single release, stunning as always, that makes the waiting easier. What an experience the album will be!
