Hello to everyone from Sky! It was a pleasure to experience the concert with you all- I think by far the most emotional part for me was in between songs, I started crying- and moments later Aurora said 'Its okay to cry'. The whole experience was absolutely magical- though the real magic is knowing I was able to share the experience with so many people all at once, so many lights burning together in harmony to a melody that reached us all deep inside- Truthfully a magical experience that I thank Aurora, ThatGameCompany, And all of you for! ♡

I love how the rhythm between each "exhale" and "inhale" is fast, almost overlapping each other. So it's not just a "breath", it's almost desperation, reaching out for air, hiperventilating. Just try breathing following as Aurora sings, and you'll see. There's this feeling of urgency, and it really fits with the overall theme of the way us humans are changing nature, and how we should worry about the consequences of this.

Yea and when you want to calm down, you’re supposed to exhale longer than you inhale but here it’s the opposite and the inhale is longer than the exhale, thus having an opposite, more stressful / ‘survival’ effect.

I exactly felt that especially now when in my environmentalist journey I'm at a point where everything feels hopeless because people are now more focused on being materially rich than connecting back to mother nature who is the true treasure. And it's like even though I'm at this lowest point I'm still clinging onto that small hope that we all have that we thought we knew never existed in nothingness. Idk wow that was so confusing

Crawl beneath the earth To feel the hunger and the thirst If you could fly and be the bird Then you would see the forest burn My dear, come near Do you understand what is happening? Who is calling me For the emergency? Who is listening To the sirens singing? We are stood and somehow calm Within the madness of a storm With no solution for the scared Tasting pollution in the air My dear, come near Do you feel my hand? It is there Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Exhale, inhale Who is calling me For the emergency? To me this song is about humanity's calmness and apathy to our destruction of our world. When people are trying to calm down they are told to inhale and then exhale. This song is telling us to exhale and then inhale. Try doing it in time with her words (if you are in a safe space and have no health issues) and I can tell you it is not a calming experience. But the song sounds so peaceful? Listen to the lyrics. Exhale and then inhale. Feel some urgency to end our destruction. If not us then who? When?
@Solon_H2 жыл бұрын
She expplains this song inspired by the greek god of death. And this song presents the importance of reaching out for help and offering help before it is too late, before the the last exhale, inhale.

Taking a breath to rest our reason so we can move in passion, to misquote Kalil Gibran. Let people breathe, friend. The species is in shock and some are slow to recover, if recover they ever will. Some will be lost even now. But for those who remain, foster remaining a well of calm acceptance in a wilderness of judgment if you want their minds to flourish and enter optimal flow state and learn before it is too late. Just watch Aurora. You'll figure it out. She's good at this. As a counselor I'm taking tips from her music therapy-wise. Help them feel safe because in safety, we grow.

I can’t get over the fact that the „inhale/exhale“ is ironically paradox in this composition. The way it’s sung the „inhale“ is actually a long exhale, and the „exhale“ sounds like a gasp. And if you switch the both and breathe with that it actually calms you down (a long exhale calms our heartbeat). If you breathe as she is saying it increases the anxiety. I don’t know though if that was somehow intentional or artistic freedom hah

I think that one of the things that makes Aurora's music so enchanting is that while there is a message she is very, VERY plainly getting across...she does so with a gentle and forgiving tone. She is not accusing, she is not threatening, she is not placing the impending weight of the world on the listener's shoulders. She is guiding, instructing, preparing. To me, the exhale into the inhale feels like that last breath before your head is pulled underwater. You know that there is something unavoidable coming, she knows it too. She is urging you to ready yourself to take the necessary actions- in this case, the necessary actions to preserve and protect what is left of our kind and nurturing planet.
@_nobody_192 жыл бұрын
When she starts singing "exhale inhale" it really feels like she is exhaling and then inhaling, trying to find a sparkle of calmness in this madness. Why are we so superficial at times? Why do we just hear and never listen? Why can't we notice the alarm? The alarm of our planet. The Earth is calling us, warning us, dying. Please, let's all stop for a moment to appreciate this masterpiece and open our eyes. Let's stop ignoring the mess we've made. Lets find the courage to heal our home. We are wasting this wonder and everyone pretends not to. The sirens are singing and nobody is understanding what is happening.

One of my favorite things about Aurora is her stance on climate change, im very passionate about animals and the earth, I find myself crying to these songs even if I don't like this one as much as "the seed" it still hits just as hard. I remember crying for two hours straight watching David Attenborough's "witness statement" it was a sorrow filled truth and I cried so much for the earth. Aurora's music gives me just as much emotion as that day did and I love that about her, no matter if I do or don't like the song it still calls up this human emotion I didn't know was buried in me.

This whole album sounds like a movie. For example, Everything Matters sounds like a song that would be played in a climatic scene or a scene in which the backstory or legend is being told. Then, Exhale Inhale sounds like the song that would be played almost at the end of the movie when all the motives have been accomplished and the secrets have been unfold. That part in Exhale Inhale that sounds exactly like a stanza in in Everything Matters makes you feel like the scene of the climax is being reminisced or recalled or connected to the end.

I started playing sky not long after i got thrown out of my house by my parents just before christmas. I tried to stand up to my abusive mother and ended up homeless. Luckily my friends took me in until i could find a place to live. I would cry everyday until i started playing. The first day on sky i was blessed enough to have seen one of auroras last concerts, some random players invited me to mess around and sit with them before the concert, i was surprised at how friendly everyone was. Aurora had a very gentle voice that felt like rain to the wasteland that my life had become. She said the things i needed to hear the most and her songs were encouraging and beautiful. Now i often play sky with my little sister and it has become my second home. So i have nothing but gratitude for Aurora and the players who helped me not be alone anymore. Thankyou, from the bottom of my heart. If it wasnt for Sky, Aurora and my little sister, i dont think i would still be here today.

This song is really beautiful. It matches the scene in the sky and makes me feel like a song written for the sky. It’s so beautiful! !

One of my favorites on album. Also I see at last two meaning multilayered :). Whole song is great but especially like this part with sirens and ending where you feel like surrounded by music and sounds. It feels like it would move you to different regality/world. Very strong ending.

The fact that you reference the theme in everything matters here is so beautiful and makes the album even more cohesive than it already was!

All of her songs are so calming. Listening to them are some of the only times I feel anxiety-free, her voice is so ethereal. She seems so friendly, too.
