What a treasure to see this! I saw her in the "last" tour in (what was it?) '94 and she was still fresh despite her advanced years and blew me away, but this is something altogether on another level. What a force of nature. 14 minutes of old video evoked out loud laughter and tears in my eyes, gee how wonderful she was in this role. No one matches her (and I've seen seven other "star" turns in the part). Thank you so much for sharing this!!

Carol Channing is nothing but absolute pure joy and perfection. She is as fresh as a daisy. Thank you for this excellent footage of one of the great musical theatre performances of the 20th century - and for my money the 21st Century, too.

Channing is so fresh, so funny, so incredibly wonderful. And by 1983, how many times had she done this role. She was a true phenomenon. What a great audience, too!

I adore carol channing she is amazing. So sorry of her passing, but she had a long and wonderful life. My friend Davis Gaines played Cornelius Hackel in the musical. He is brilliant. He has done many things since . He sang at her memorial they were very good friends. He always talks about her when he does his cabaret act. He adored her. Thank you for posting this one with her and Davis. I'll cherish this always.
