Күн бұрын

In this weeks Test Drive, we take a look at the newly released A2A Simulations Accu-sim Bonanza. The Bonanza 35, featured a retractable landing gear and its signature V-tail with combination elevator-rudder called Bonanza 35, which made it both efficient and the most distinctive private aircraft in the sky. A2A recreated the Bonanza to a high quality, and its compatible with P3Dv4. Please join Aus Flight Simmer, as he takes the Bonanza for a Test Drive around the block and provides his first impressions. Is it value for money? Check out this episode to find out.

Aus Flight Simmer You really should overclock that CPU, that's by far the best way to get better frames in a flight sim for CPU.. I have an 8600k which is also 6 core's, at 3.9 GHZ at my setting's I was getting 10-15 FPS taking off from sacramento exec, all I did was overclock to 4.9 GHZ and I was getting 40-60 FPS with settings very high (in the city). Also with a ton of ORBX addons/AS4/UT Live/FS Global/PMDG. It seem's that P3D requires a set amount of CPU power just to get running with physics ect. and once you hit that mark it doesn't take much more CPU speed to get frames to shoot up from 10 to 60+ so try it out.

Hi Shane! Got this one as well as the rest of their GA aircraft. It's truly a masterpiece - absolutely outstanding! But it's demanding as you really need to fly her "by the book". That's what their aircraft is really about and that's what you pay for as well - else it will punish you. And it did in your video :) Once you take your time to study her she will gratefully reward you! Regards Thomas

Nice video. Just one observation. I believe for climb manifold pressure should be set at 25 inches. I'm watching on a small screen but it looked like yours was set just below 20. I found 25 inches with 100 IAS will deliver a climb at around 1000 fpm. I agree, it is an awesome aeroplane and a great job by A2A. In VR it's fantastic and quickly became my favourite.

You need to use differential braking to help steer you around in many real ga airplanes, normally in flight sim airplanes though they didnt model this.

The v-tail adds some rather unique flight characteristics that can get you in a lot of trouble really quickly if you're not prepared for it. I can understand how it got its nickname "The Doctor Killer".

I don't think you ever caught on to how your mixture was pulled back so far that your engine was starving for fuel and making less than 50% power. You flew for about 20 minutes and never noticed your Manifold Pressure was only making 15 pounds per square inch. What's up with that? Example: The 285 and 300 hp engines are usually pulled back to 25 mp and 2500 rpm as soon as possible after the gear and flaps are brought up. The airplane was not flying well. The airplane was flying under powered and porpoising all over the place your entire flight. When you started your final, you never set mixture to rich and you left the prop set at 2500 rpm. You couldn't have stopped that plane from dropping out of the sky even if you wanted to by adding power. You weren't set up to get any power out of that engine. I have watched several of your videos and for the most part they are OK, but this one was a farce. 75% Cruise power at 6500 hundred feet MSL usually will set a manifold pressure at 23 mp and prop at 2350 rpm. Those Continental engines ran best with rpm set 50 rpm greater than manifold pressure. You run those suckers at higher manifold pressure that rpm and you can blow the head gaskets. I flew a Beech Debonaire for over 200 hours when I was much younger, 1966 thru 1974. You could almost always count on an average speed of 3 miles a minute no matter environmental conditions. The A2A Beech Bonanza V-tails were 6 knots faster than the T-tails and at cruise. No wind groundspeed at 6500 msl should have easily been in the 180 mph range. Didn't you think it was strange that you weren't making speeds of more than 130 knots throughout your entire flight? Just say'in, this video is a farce, completely uncharacteristic of you.

Dale, thanks for the comment. I would love to spend more time with some products than I did with this one before the video was published. The aim of the Test Drive series is to complete a first look flight. They will never be perfect. I try to publish content as soon as possible to help other simmers make decisions are products value you for money. Thanks for your handy tips. It’s much appreciated.

Aus Flight Simmer: Dale White reply: I'm sorry. I was too harsh with my comments. I thought you had said, at one time, you were a private pilot and a simmer on the side. If you're not a real world pilot, I was too harsh. If you are a real world pilot, I can't understand how you could fly this plane for 20 + minutes and not recognize there was a problem that needed to be addressed/attention. Thinking you were a real world pilot, made me concerned for your safety and that; I better get your attention (before you got in real world trouble). Anyway, sim on and continue the good work you do.
