When i was a kid learning to fly, i would lust over the planes in each issue of "Flying". But, none more so than on the cover of one in the 1980's of a Mooney in a stainless steel or solid chrome livery in flight. I always wanted one of those babies. But, alas, the price was and is out of my range. However, thanks to Alabeo, looks like i can finally get my Mooney! My fave GA plane of all time!

Just a follow up: I've got about 100 hrs in this plane now, and have to say, it's one of the very best Carenado/Alabeo has ever done. The only tick really, is the pop up auto pilot.. its easier to set the ALT on the VC panel... and if you have TrackIR, or EZdok, or both.. that's the best way to do that. Its a great value, and everyone should have it in the hanger.

Gorgeous little aircraft, definitely worth consideration. Mooney's are famous for being speedy, kind of like the sports car of GA. Thanks for another great review.

Ovation is faster down low. Acclaim needs flight levels to get its best speed

@@droge192 I agree: I had to keep turning the volume up and down so that I didn't wake my neighbours (it was a late hour): I wanted to hear the engine sounds so turned up the sound, then had to turn it down every time that music came on. I don't mind the music, except that it detracts from what I am wanting to hear.

You used the wrong fuel pump to start; that is probably why you had trouble.
