I love this little Tomahawk. Justflight did a great job on it and you did a good job of making the video also. Right now my favorite GA is AirFoilLab's Beechcraft King Air 350i

The PA-38 Piper Tomahawk is well worth purchasing for Xplane11. A few things could be improved. The RPM seems a bit low in relation to the speed. Also, it takes a long time before the wing comes down in a stall. However, when it does, it reacts like the real thing. Thanks for the great video. Don't forget to switch on the fuel pump when taking off. (the left switch)

Fuel pump goes on when taking off - at least on my Aero Club's checklist.

Does it tend to drop a wing if it fully stalls and you don't recover immediately? How about spins?
@Klaas_H Жыл бұрын
@@adb012 No, not like the real plane. Something the designers at JustFlight did not implement. However, it will do if you help it by using the rudder initially. Before designing the aircraft, Piper widely surveyed flight instructors for their input into the design. Instructors requested a more spinnable aircraft for training purposes. Other two-place trainers such as the Cessna 152 were designed to spontaneously fly out of a spin. An additional pair of stall strips (around 1983) added to the inboard leading edge of the PA-38 wing standardized and improved the stall characteristics somewhat.

Will we be getting a Tomahawk in FS2020? I’d like to get my PPL and that’s the main student pilot aircraft in NZWN Wellington.

Wonder why reflections on gauges are so much better in the XP11 version ?
@epictetus97663 жыл бұрын
Because X-Plane simulates light way better than P3D/FSX.

Great job Mate! Big fan of your vids! I mostly fly Carenado Cessna 172 I-have pc that just does not handle X-Plane 11 too well. But GA flights are pretty good! I like this model! Lots of visibility with the "Bubble" cockpit. I did notice one of the Tomahawk's UK livery's with a German flag so hope they fix that! Frank from U.S.A.

So you know that it does not climb at 1200 fpm at 70 kts 😊😁 Again JF needs to take more attention when it comes to flight modeling and perf accuracy. Nice cockpit, visual and sounds tho.
@epictetus97663 жыл бұрын
@@StefBelgium it doesn't descend at 1000 fpm, in a 70knots glide, either. Thranda Designs have this aircraft of their lists of ones that need fixing - but it's painfully slow.

Such a shame that, even now in June 2021, the flight model is well and truly screwed for this aircraft. Would love to have it reasonably representative on the real aircraft as it'd be a great aid to my flight training. Oh well.
