CORRECTION: Just to say that most people won't need to pay listing fees on private eBay accounts, I mentioned them as I've always had to as I'm registered as a 'Business Seller'. I believe private sellers get a set number of listing per month that are free (listing fees wise at least). Thanks to Rich McGee for pointing that out!

So if you wanted to start the hobby, is buying second-hand practical?
@PerposterusGossamerPossum4 жыл бұрын
Yes, resell them to me. So I can chop up the unused sprue and snort it.

Generally unless you are selling way below market value do not expect to sell quickly. Even space marine bits may take a while despite being a highly-placed army. I had sold a Genestealer Cult Brood Brothers Upgrade sprue for about a pound less than every other listing and it still took almost two months for it to sell.

Another piece of advice, for individual units you want to sell quickly look at the average price on ebay and go a little below.

As a student who always finds great deals on my local buy and trade website. This video has inspired me to finally take the extra step and start reselling. Thank you this was super informative.

Auspex, could you please do a video about the different HQ choices for astra militarum comparing their stats and loud outs. then breaking it down to the best choices.

Will add it to the guard agenda. I'm sure we'll get there eventually

This is how I can justify buying more expensive models. Buy for a good price, take the time to enjoy painting as well as you can and if you need to one day, you can sell it at a profit, or at least break even.

I've been playing for 16 years now, Black Templars all the way. I've been considering tossing the lot on eBay, think this might finally help me make the decision. Thanks for the advice mate :)

Ebay UK charges listing fees for basic lots with no optional add-ons? That's weird - US hasn't in years. You'll pay a percentage of the final sale price and postage, but the actual listing (and endless relists) is free unless you go over some fairly high number per month (50 or 100 at start, goes up over time). Also, if you're living someplace that hasn't outlawed thin plastic grocery bags yet, save them and use them for packing material. They are vastly superior for shipping minis than anything you can buy or salvage from incoming shipping. Way better than bubble wrap, which doesn't yield when jostled, and they're light for their volume, very important when not using flat rate shipping. Which you really shouldn't, plastic figs are very rarely heavy enough to make them a better choice than by-weight postage.

Ah yes, sorry forgot that that won't be a thing for most people - I'm registered as a 'business seller' so the still charge listing fees...
@richmcgee4344 жыл бұрын
No kidding? Been doing painted minis sales for most of my living for 15 years now and I never signed up for a "business seller" at all. Think I'll stay that way - eBay's barely relevant to me these days anyway. Mostly commission work these days.

Great video. Thanks. Can you suggest good places to buy Warhammer to sell? Do you just bid on whole armies on eBay and sell the bits separately?

Hey question I have a couple of sealed new warhammer miniatures, not put together or anything pretty much new still in plastic from 40k and AOS. Would you happen to know where I could sell these other than online?

I’ve purchased 1000$ on big box sets. I made my army from those box sets, then sold them individually on eBay and made my money back.
@alexforster45984 жыл бұрын
Shouldn’t you just always strip a model you buy? I mean I do. I bought some Models off my friend And they looked horrendous so I just took some isopropyl alcohol (91% strength I believe) and I just soak them in that. Easy peasy and scrub whatever doesn’t gloop off with an old toothbrush for maximum clean

Just buy recasts HH, paint it, and then swim in the cash
@Sephvion4 жыл бұрын
Shooter Mcgavin Okay, this is just unethical lol.
@richmcgee4344 жыл бұрын
Ethics aside, if you claim a recast is a GW product and the buyer realizes it's a recast (paint job or not) you're wide open for having PayPal yoink the payment back from your bank account if he wants a refund. "Item was not as described" is grounds for that, and PayPal always favors the buyer over the seller.
@lucianaurelius24184 жыл бұрын
Rich McGee you don’t have to claim it’s a GW product
@richmcgee4344 жыл бұрын
@Redscope Not normally a proponent of arson, but for recasters I'd consider making an exception.
