I want the Emperors Children to have variety in how they look. Slaanesh is excess in your personal pleasures, goals, desires, etc. so it should be different depending on the marine. I would love to see some pristine looking swordsmen obsessed with being perfect. Some crazy feral berserkers obsessed with stimulants. Noise marines for the music obsessed. Some chonky marines for the glutton obsessed. Hell maybe some crazy artists obsessed with art. Have that be how they’re distinguished from their combat roles. Who am I kidding, James is just going to make them all look like Lucious.

Representing different aspects of Slaanesh through different units sounds like the basis for a great army book! Heck, if you wanted to go even further you could have their cultist equivalents be corrupted Sororitas to go with the obsession with corrupting the innocent and virtuous (and to give them cultist equivalents that are different to the Tzaangors, Poxwalkers and Jakhals), or N'Kari as another Lord of War option since it's Fulgrim's consort in the lore. The latter sounds especially fun since it could have 2 statlines based on its 2 main forms (the obese one from Slaves to Darkness [the Heresy novel] and a more typical Slaanesh daemon form).

In the latest 40k Emperor's Children book "Lords of Excess" there was a character that was an extremely bulky/overweight character(similar to The Blob from marvel) who's armour had to be strapped onto him. Wondering if we will get models similar. i.e. exploring different interpretations of "excess"

I always felt like Slaanesh was misrepresented with her miniatures A couple of minis show his affinity with glutonny, vainglory and art, mostly in AoS, but most of them are about allure, pain and pleasure I'll note that in lore it'd make sense for most Slaanesh worshippers to be civilians with comfort and free time rather than soldiers and warriors ; Khorne obviously is the other way around

World Eater helbrutes are basically Murdefang, Death Guard's deal mortal wounds on charge, and T. Sons buff Cabal shenanigans...realisitcally, EC's will either get access to Sonic weapons (probably a chaos version of the Space Wolves Helfrost Canon in that it does a single moderately strong shot at range and does torrent up close) or would get a passive ability like the others. But definitely not both...and knowing GW, it probably won't be the Spnic weapons

So this might be an actual unpopular opinion, especially coming from a longer time EC player, but I actually hope that Noise Marines aren't the only option we get for our line troops. Yes, I do remember 3rd Edition where they were like the rest of the cult Legions and made up the bulk of the force but I like the direction they've taken the 3rd and Slaanesh more generally in the past decade or so. Make the Noise Marines a sub-cult, allowing space for your duelists, your various other kinds of degenerates, really crank the delusion and arrogance up to 11. As much as its become associated with Slaanesh, I think the sex drugs and rock 'n roll aesthetic is limiting and I hope we get more than repackaged kits with sonic weapon upgrade sprues.

It does always seem a bit weird to me that noise marines are the base line. Like the other god-aligned’s main troop is implied to make up the majority, and it works. Rubrics, we know their lore. Plague marines, of course all the DG are like that. Bezerkers? Duh. Noise marines? I don’t know. That feels way more specific to me.

GW will probably copy CA's model for handling Chaos forces - in that they'll release content for them that won't always match. But will hint at future release for other Chaos factions further down the line. Thousands Sons had Tzaangors and Terminators. Death Guard had Apothecaries, Terminators and a number of tanks. Khorne had Cavalry units and Aspiring Champion style units. When the Khorne release came you'd expect to see Blood Pact, Butcher-Apothecaries, Red Butchers, Khorngors, some Khornate orientated spawn unit, etc. But none of those came.

Personally, I'd enjoy that. I think Daemons with no mortal support makes little sense, as the only way for Daemons to even enter real space needs a lot of dastardly rituals performed by mortals. Or in some cases Space Marine warbands. Give us a Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch and Nurgle codex, a Chaos Space Marine warbands codex (which has a detachment that mirrors Imperial Agents so you can take allied units) and at the end of the edition we get a pact between Vashtorr and Perturabo who seize control of the Dark Mechanicum.

Yeah a space marine with leopard bell bottoms is funny but I like the body horror aspect that Slaanesh brings. Also I hope the Dark Mechanicum get an army next year. But I don't think Chaos Daemons players have ever really been satisfied with how their faction works. So shuffling them all off into their respective mono-god factions seems the most efficient way to handle them. That way, they're all getting rules that jive with their theme.

Deathwatch will be getting more options to run as a standalone faction in december. I think we might see the combination of Chaos Daemons into "Forces of Chaos" so Chaos Space Marines can be their own thing and we can get the random assortment of Chaos Goodstuff. Be'lakor/Chaos Undivided, Vashtorr, Dark Mech, Chaos Cultists all in a codex together in 11th Edition. Basically expanding what counts under the Chaos Daemon codex rather than rolling them into a new codex. We might also see the four gods get their own detachment in that codex, but I think it'd be more likely for them to go into their Legion Codex. It'd also give a soft launch for Dark Mech to get their own Codex as only Vashtorr would truly fit Dark Mech since CSM isn't really a good place for them.

Its gonna suck if chaos armies become as uniform as imperial armies, and if they give them the "primaris™" treatment. I wish there was more variation in my primaris blood angels army. But sadly, they just lack the options to look different. But at least its expected with loyalists. I really, really want to see something different to a noise marine for the ECs. Noise is fine but there are other sensations. They could take inspiration from Resident Evil in this respect and give us some kind of tonge-lasher “taste marine”, for example. Aside from the obvious picks like Noise Marines and whanot, I'd say Emperor's Children should be the ones who get Jetbikes. And it might be cool to do some sort of twisted take on 'Aspirants' so they'd be a little like a scout unit but also being their cultist variant. They'd sport more experimental augmentations and this would then also be Fabius' special unit. Or perhaps their cultist unit would take cues from Escher gangers so all about poisons/drugs, whips and knives.

Splitting out Daemons would be beyond dumb. Not only do you squat a bunch of peoples' armies (and the recent hasty backpedaling over Deathwatch shows how well that's generally received) but you then break Word Bearers and the other 'undivided' Traitor Legions that use Daemons. Sure, you could update the Chaos Codex to allow the use of Daemon allies from WE, DG, TS and EC on top of the Cult troops but TBH if you're going to do that GW might as well buy shares in Wahapedia. It'd be nice if the Cult Legions went back to being able to use stuff from the vanilla Codex- my Nurgle army never managed to go full Death Guard because only the Plague Marines carried over to their book, for example- but I'm not holding my breath.

DG/WE's/1kSons don't really *need* any of the CSM units beyond a few of the shared vehicles, rather, GW just needs to give them some actual fething releases so they can field their own unique units! 1kSons have had all of 1 HQ release since 2017 Death Guard only got what they did because they lucked into being the 'main' antagonist faction for 8th WE's are literally all of 4 or 5 datasheets at this point GW needs to either give all these factions at least another 5-6 kits each, or just squat them and put the 4 Cult Troops back into the CSM codex and make 'Khorne/WE's theme' detachment, etc... for each of the dedicated Legions

Actually, the named character can be built as a generic guy, and the bikers have either a sword or mutations, so they count for two That's a whopping 8 units! Hopefully with this new EC faction it brings lots of unique units for them. I do suspect the Votann treatment though, half a range until the next edition. We need upgrade sprues for standard CSM like the nightlords got in that killteam box. Been patiently waiting for something like that since the WE release. Id assume a similar time gap for Lorgar and Perty as they did between DG and WE. Mainly because the current factions still need to be filled out, except for DG who just need a couple updated models. I hope the rumors of Tsons finally getting that second wave of models is true because the've needed that for years now

I would love if GW avoided making the Emperor's Children look like generic chaos. Because of their ironic name and warcry, I would love the Emperor's Children aesthetic to be what I can only call sickeningly imperial, angelic even, with only the faintest hints of their true chaotic/mutated nature showing.

Iron Warriors have more identity at this point (and would make for an unironically better stand-alone faction). Emperor’s Children have always lacked something real and too many mixed ideas, like being enhanced beyond marines, sonic weaponry, leading others to temptation, with a background in ‘being more skilled’. They’re cool, but they’re all over the place.

This may be the one thing to bring me back into the hobby after I left it around Cadias fall. I always wanted an EC army and was pissed by how GW treats everything around Slaanesh compared to the other gods. So I'm happy that they finally deliver something. And if they even show me one single small nipple on one random model, it may bring back a bit of hope to my soul when it comes to GW, always being afraid to show some lewd stuff.

Re: FW Fulgrim Transfigured The model was indeed well-received, but not as a tabletop miniature. Not only is the model a pain to transport due to the delicate nature of a lot of the connections, but the rules associated with him and the Rites of War that can be taken with him amount to a case where, among other things, a corrupted Emperor's Children army is essentially paying 700pts (nearly 25% of your army's total points in a standard 3000pt game) for a model whose benefits for said army (primarchs must be your warlord if you take them) come from not being on the table.

Once we get EC out of the way, I’m praying they put the focus onto something like iron warriors. Doubtful but considering the recent public interest in a dark mechanicus, I could see them at some point swinging iron warriors with perty maybe alongside a big iron hands release or an imperial fists release with Dorn. Time will tell but I have fun fantasizing about an iron warriors gun line just mean-mugging next to a volley of bolter fire.

Hope for a big release, at least with some new unique units like Deathguard and World Eaters (and Thousand Sons, but they have not much) got...
