As A American I Have scrolled though this comment section fascinated with Australia kind in fact I'd like to go to Australia, but the 1st thing iv noticed is you guys a ton of pride and are very proud to be in Australia, I have found it sad that no one in the USA is proud or anything to be from America and its dumb, the only people in the us that are proud to be from where they are is Texas-Kentucky-new Orleans-Nebraska-in some places Florida, but that's it and what's funny is those people get made fun the most.

Legendary ZACH4 Also interesting is most of those areas you named were big slaving areas and huge areas of oppresion in the past. I think their patriotism stems from their bigotted nature which in itself makes them seem more stupid but I guess that's not their fault anymore since its been a thing for so long its normal to them.

@drzoidberg8446 жыл бұрын
You don’t know the history of The reservation system and have a improper view of it
@lorenzodemedici63324 жыл бұрын
@Joe Blow It’s ironic how you’re the one calling me uneducated, yet you’re ignorant enough to say “stop badmouthing the USA”, I’m sorry I didn’t know my “uneducated” self wasn’t aloud to excessive my first amendment right. And that statement was very much true, the Cherokee being a great example. The Cherokee originally lived in Florida and Georgia, they assimilated into Anglo-American culture, which they were promised by the United States government would ensure they would get to keep their land. When Andrew Jackson stepped into office he basically said “get off thats my land”, and tried to kick them off of their land in Georgia. The Cherokee ended up suing Georgia in hopes of the deal being upheld, but the Supreme Court ruled that the Natives weren’t citizens, and that they had no right to sue in the U.S. This led to “The Trail of Tears” in which 16,000 Cherokee were forcefully marched to a reservation in Oklahoma, and 4,000 of those died on the way. This also happened in the Seminole wars, as the Seminole people wouldn’t surrender their lands, so the Government just declared war on them. So yes, for the Native tribes that still exist on reservations today, it was literally move or die, and that’s why most of them are dead. Most tribes chose to fight, and were killed off. Today there’s around 223 Native American tribes, most of which residing in Alaska, but in the late eighteenth century, in the Continental United States alone, there was at least 600 different tribes.
