I am 23 and i sleep with my mom and sometimes i also sleep with my dad, in india we don't mind this, and we believe in joint family because we never want to leave our roots, we can't raise our voice in front of our elders and we can't even look into eyes of our elders if they are angry on us for some reasons. Family is everything.

You can sleep beside your mother but your sister can't sleep beside your father, isn't that fucked up? You said you can't raise your voice infront of them, then how would you take stand for yourself? Are you sure they always know what's best for you, also more than you? You don't want freedom? You don't like the sense of individuality? You like living with them even after growing up and tell me can you start a live in relationship there? Would they be okay? And let's talk about patriarchy. What stand does your mother hold in your family? Doesn't your father only make all decisions? For their lives and for yours. Love your family but don't be blind. Why we are so fucked up if we really are great people? Because discrimination is in the roots. Men oppresses women, elders oppresses younger beings in family and so goes caste hierachy. You know what I am talking about. And of course beating your children and beating your wife or beating anyone in general is physical abuse.

Respect your parents coz you can earn billions, you can have anything you want, but you can't make parents who first think of their children's happiness then after if sometime left they think for themselves and even that time they think to how to make our future... Even if get old i can't even think of living in any house where my parents doesn't live, bcoz i want to take good care of them, and let them if anything happens I'm there for you till my last breath, and i think every true indian feels the same... In India sleeping or lying with parents is not a strange thing…it’s actually a way to seek and show love …One typical thing in India is son normally listening more to his parents than his wife …and it can create tension in families…but still somehow the rule is staying together and finding the delicate balance..it is tough but is great when judged at time of difficult circumstances….however this is changing fast…for good or worst …cannot say

I'm 30 years old and I still sleep with my parents until I get married. Then my wife and myself will also sleep with both the parents. It's a common thing. We may be older, but in the vision of parents we are still kids. Also, being independent doesn't mean living individually in India. We stay with our parents till their last day and our children will follow the same with us. Parents take care of us till we settle and we do the same taking care of them till the end. It's a cycle of life.

Lol, as many of the things mentioned are relatable but they took it in a whole ideal level. Not exactly what she mentioned actually happens. I did watch cartoon, my parents did not told me what should I become but they just made sure I get good marks in school And specially what they told about school are really ideal, most of the school culture here is very different. They care about money and nothing else. I dont want to say the video was completely unrelated to a indian life but they just took it as people in India are too ideal. This is just not the case.

This is more reflective of an older generation.. I related to this growing up but now it's very different, looking at most kids and how they behave these days.. ugh. Totally off on the education system tho 😂 my class had 60 students, there was no question of getting personalized attention. Teachers absofreakinlutely have favourites, so much so that others never got an opportunity to shine because the favourites always got picked for extracurriculars etc. Also parents never missed an opportunity to compare you with other kids. Everything I did in school was compared to whoever was the current topper in the class 😂

In India, we consider food as a divine part. we should always show respect for food and wasting food is considered as irresponsible behavior. We have a special female sacred diety in the house which takes care of food - "Annapurna".We have a ritual in our family, after completing our meals we always say a Sanskrit verse " Ana daata sukhi bhava" which means- 'God give all the happiness who has given me this food" showing gratitude to food and food giver

I am so proud to be bone and raised in Indian society and in Indian family system ... Indian Women leave with self respect and their whole life be like irrational yagna .. thay will born pure , thay live pure with self respect untill thay die... Indian familys die or kill for respect in society .. every family trys be perfect and earn good name .... And to maintain good name which was passed through their forefathers from ganarations .... Indians are soo sentimental thay love their children soo much Indian familys are so connected Indian parents beat children for their child future good ..other wise children will be spoiled like some foreign countries Fully exposeing women ....three four affairs for each women , drinking alcohol ... Now a days Indian culture is spoiling because of western culture... Mostly

Haha I'm a lawyer, I have a separate room, but I still love to sleep with my parents sometimes, you know why, cuz I feel safe and protected, I love chatting with them before sleeping and hug them and sleep. Parents are God's gift, you must love them before it gets too late.

Instead of giving money to the child, better we can offer what they want.. That's really appreciatable... And certain things u can enjoy at that respective age... We always think that our child should not miss anything that what they want...

The main reason for forcing the children's occupation or profession by the parents in India is because until a few decades back to the professions ar based on family legacy if your father was a shoe repairman you were destined to become a shoe repairman so that's the reason for the parents wishing for their kids profession that they were not able to acheive or not allowed to

Its kids duty when their parent to grow old. Their sacrifice their entire life for kids. When kids get independent they still live with parents. Girls get married and goes with her husband. Sons marries and bring bride in home, and have to fulfill his duty of taking care of his parents. So Son and His wife, grandchildren live together and younger one always respect elders. Its joint family concept. I have 7 uncle my father brother which live together, along with their kids, daughter in laws, grand kids. Like whole colony of relatives. Sometimes even 4 generation living together. 3 is normal. I am 50 and i have 40 first cousin brothers and sisters. 14 cousin brother cousins and rest cousin sisters. Now think their kids and their kid's kids. I have become grandpa. We usually don't have concept of 1st cousin, 2nd cousin (maternal, paternal). We just call brothers and sisters. But in hierarchy each relation have a unique name also. Like my any elder brother's real or cousin's wife is my Bhabhi (you call sister in law). I have to be very respectful for her like my mother or elder sister. She takes care of me like her younger brother or if age difference is more like a mother. Here we say elder brother is like a father, and her wife is like a mother to us. In case my parents dies, they will take care for me, my education, my marriage and my character. Each relation and it's sanity crystal clear. Simple rule Elders have to take care of younger ones. And then when you stand at your own feet you have take care of elders in most respectful way.
