Munger and Buffett have both achieved an incredible feat with Berkshire. They've turned thousands to billions, and have made a lot of people wealthy in the process. I really saw the potential of the stock market by reading Berkshire's annual letters. I recently sold my $674k apartment in the Bel Air area and I'm hoping to throw it into the stock market. I just don't want to lose everything.

Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however, I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-- lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter.

Buffet and Munger have both done well. They have invested soundly and profited from it. However don't think it will work as well for you. They were both born wealthy and connected. That key fact gets left out of a lot of successful people's biographies. Munger's grandfather was a politician and federal judge. He sent Munger's father to Harvard Law school, and Munger went there also. Buffet's father was a four term US congressman, both wealthy and connected. Buffet attended Wharton School of Business and Columbia Business School. His connections also got him a job with Benjamin Graham the father of value investing. They both got the most out of the opportunities they had, but they had opportunities few do.

In algebra inversion is called proof by contradiction; assume that original proposition is not true. Then show it leads to contradiction i.e. it leads that is true. Now because something can’t be both not true and true that is a contradiction. So the original premise is correct. This approach is often easier.

Here is the key to their wealth. They started with insurance companies that has income streams coming in constantly from insurance payments, they are not just looking at profit from the business but those insurance payments need to be invested and only divested to make insurance payouts, the key is that constant income stream available for investment. Second, they made the insurance companies a subsidiary of a parent company that they owned, so insurance subsidiary profits became their profits, neat trick. They didn't do anything magic, the stock market began growing exponentially after 401K's were created and entire workforce began investing causing stock market to grow, their investments grew with the market.

This video is truly inspirational! Charlie Munger’s approach to investing, focusing on mental models and inversion, is not only insightful but also incredibly practical. It’s fascinating to see how he applies these concepts beyond the financial sphere into everyday decision-making scenarios. His story about being a weather forecaster and using inversion to avoid disastrous outcomes-by asking how he could potentially "kill" pilots to instead ensure their safety-is a brilliant illustration of this method in action. Munger’s emphasis on knowing the limits of one’s competence and the power of humility in investing is particularly compelling. It's a lesson that many could benefit from, in and outside of investing. His idea that it's better to know a lot about a small area (circle of competence) and specialize in it resonates deeply, especially in today’s world where information overload can lead to analysis paralysis. Moreover, his resilience in the face of market fluctuations, emphasizing rationality and long-term focus, is a crucial takeaway for any investor. His belief in simplicity in business and investment choices, ensuring that even a poorly managed good business can thrive, offers a practical blueprint for choosing investments. Lastly, the lifelong commitment to learning and self-education that Munger advocates is not only inspiring but a fundamental pillar for personal and professional growth. This video doesn’t just teach about investing; it’s a masterclass in critical thinking and decision-making that encourages viewers to think differently and more effectively about problems and opportunities in life. Thank you for such a valuable and thought-provoking video! It's a must-watch for anyone interested in bettering their investing strategies and decision-making skills.

There are lots of mixed opinions about stocks and there projection in the next coming years, I aim for short term solid gains from market correction and I'd definitely jump on the boat if I knew a thing or two about day-trading. I'm just looking for the right moves to grow and hedge my stagnant reserve of $490k from inflation.

Invest in S&P 500 ETF, for as long as possible. Do it as often as you can. Try not to withdraw this money and let compounding do its work. Prioritize patience and a long-term perspective most importantly consider financial advisory for informed buying and selling decisions.

Often people underestimate the value of counseling until their own emotions become overwhelming. A few summers ago, after a long divorce, I needed a huge push to keep my business going. I searched for licensed advisors and discovered one with the greatest qualifications. Despite inflation, she has helped increase my reserve from $275k to $750k.

i'm intrigued by this. I've searched for financial advisors online but it's kind of hard to get in touch with one. Okay if I ask you for a recommendation?
@DesireeJames-q1zАй бұрын
I’m cautious about giving specific recommendations as everyone's situation varies. You may consider independent financial advisors like “Laurelyn Gross Pohlmeier* I've worked with her and I'd gladly commend her exemplary service on a public post.

The economic crisis and downturn are all the signs of 2008 market crash 2.0, so my question is do I still save in the US dollar or is it okay to move all emergency and savings to precious metals?

Nobody knows anything you need to create your own process, manage risk and stick to the plan, through thick or thin while also continuously learning from mistakes and improving.
