I love George’s old concert footages. He was such a love, so cute, and loved to be funny. He really loves being a showman. George always gives his best and put his whole heart into every song he sang. I have followed his career since way back in the 1970s before he signed with Nashville. He is like a little brother to me. I have watched him from a distance grow into the best man that I know, you just can’t help loving everything he does. We both just grew old together, I see him now at 69 and my heart just swells with memories of all the joy he has brought to my life through his singing. I also love every member of his “Ace in the Hole”band, they grew old with him. He still got it. It is just better now, just like real good aged whiskey, smooth and mellow. I’m just waiting for him to drop another album and get entertainer of the year again at 70 years old. Here’s to the King of Country Music and the Greatest Showmen on Earth, and To another 30 years of music, fun and love. Merry Christmas darling to you, Norma, and your family.

Gloria Williams, you just describe to a T how I have always seen him, years same & just the exact feelings I have had since 70’s! I aged right along with him too! We are both 69 now. This April 23, I turn 70 before him! Then May 18 his birthday he’ll be 70, exactly 25 days after mine. We are Taurus & I am stubborn, Norma said one time he was. The song Check Yes or No, I experience that in 3rd grade too! I wrote the note! His brother Buddy married a friend I gradurated with. A very sweet,smart cute as bug girl that never had a bad word said about her or she in turn! I know of Poteet, strawberry capitol of the world & Pearshall! Yes those cute faces he makes & his eyebrows! He came to my school for his nephew’s graduation & a friends daughter with nephew! They feel like family! Married same year as me, gradurated same! Theirs plenty more but I’m Probably pushes it now on Space! Thanks for hearing me out, comparing notes! Gloria, you can’t help caring for such a good, decent, religious. Beauitful looking man! On a sad note,he lost his only daughter as I did! His Jenifer was born 1972, my Kristi 1975! Both born in October! So much alike! Thanks Gloria for listening.

Years ago, early 70's every band that played ACL would play for about 50 minutes. None of this two band an hour thing. And when they played they would pick and intro song so that everyone in the band got to showcase their talents. I guarantee you that is why George did it. I am sure he was raised on ACL.

Wow! What an awesome recording here! I am learning the swing piano solo on "Am I Blue" and this is one of the best ways to do it! To actually see it played, and slowing the playback speed down work really well! I am in the process of creating videos of "My Western Swing Piano Journey" and it's all about how to play Western Swing. One take away moment here is how this piano player plays all four inversions of that diminished chord during the solo! Good stuff!
