Mike sees 1 swing and fixes a pro. That’s some knowledge. So impressive.

Wow that just helped me with something I thought was wrong, super strong grip (2.5/3 knuckles showing). I always felt like more control of the club face on the down swing that way but thought it was the wrong way with the back of the palm not facing down the line at contact. Can’t wait to try that.

3rd or 4th time watching this Magic Mike & i finally just grasped what you meant by " compromised joint". maybe a grip change would save Wie. Anyways, so i also finally heard this "you can play from that joint misaligned but you don't have to" This reminded me of the feeling i had early on in my swing. i would have the feeling of slicing across the ball with my hand but have the most what i called flat face contact. But just like you i was swayed into the rotation of forearms concept.

With Malaska move and Tiger Woods/Butch Harmon video, i finally managed to understand how to swing and hit a ball like a pro swing. Without amateur basic errors. I'm so happy man!!! Malaska and Tiger swing are pretty much the same method 👉club in front of the hands at transition (which is abt 30% of a downswing) and at the final part of downswing, all you have to do is extend 90% of your right arm. That's it.

Bobby jones grip, strong lead hand neutral trail hand. Bobby absolutely wanted the lead hand on top of the club.

I had so much trouble ball striking (hosel every time) and TWO concepts allowed me to be a killer ball striker now. (1) your comments on grip like this, and (2) Rory McIlroy's advice on imagining "razor blades" during the take away. if you are unfamiliar with #2 you should google it and I would love a video with your thoughts on that.

Bobby Jones grip was strong lead hand neutral trail hand like Mike is suggesting, Bobby wanted the lead hand on top of the shaft he never ever shanked a shot even as young boy I believe it's the grip

Hi, Is only the left (lead) hand "as strong as possible", with the right (trail) square to target, i.e not going underneath to also be stronger?

Strong lead hand neutral trail hand just like Bobby Jones had. Many reasons for this grip

Mr. Malaska, I have a question on the strong grip with the left hand for a right-handed golfer. Is there any arm rotation with the left arm to achieve the strong grip as in the left elbow turning to point at the target? Also does the handle of the club sit in the base and palm of the fingers or in the middle knuckle of the fingers? Thank you for your help.
@brianforrester96707 ай бұрын
The easiest way is to take your normal grip with the clubface closed anywhere from 15-45 degrees, depending on how strong you want your grip, then set up to the ball with a square club face. Your grip is automatically strong that way. Otherwise it will sit in your hand as it would with a neutral or weak grip.

Monsieur Malaska, you’re the crème of the crème of pro teaching in the whole world. I can even say you’re my favourite on you tube. Your advices made me a real better golf player and you have all my gratitude. However, seriously, this video is unwatchable. ( does this word exist in english?). Looking forward for the next one!!! :-))

I noticed that with a stronger grip (seeing 3, maybe 4 knuckles), it's a really uncomfortable set up especially since I have a very muscular upper body and not much flexibility...but at the range I will hit it pretty damn good like that..it almost seems impossible to shank and if anything might pull left just a bit. But when I'm at the course I completely go neutral or even weak and it causes me to shank so damn much😫😫..then I try to go stronger then I just completely forget the feeling of it

The more I feel like my swing improves the less comfortable a neutral grip feels. I've had to start turning my right hand a bit stronger to feel "comfortable"..

Hi Mike I just would like your thoughts about using a strong grip, I know you advocate that but I have a two plane swing where my arms swing above my shoulder plane. Jim hardy advocates a neutral to weak grip and getting your club parallel or slightly across the line at the top. Your thoughts please.

Hi Mike: I just took a lesson and was told to work on keeping my right arm close to my rib cage. I’m a right hander. I have tried for 2 rounds now and have added over 10 strokes to my game. Did I misunderstand or do I need to keep working on this? Very confused??

I notice when I go to a 4 knuckle left hand grip and neutral right hand, my left wrist is severely cupped at the top. When I see Mike or this player in the video they are nowhere near as cupped as I am. Do I try and take some of the cup out at the top or don't worry about it. It would seem with such a strong left hand grip in the fingers and on top of the grip at address it can't help but have a lot of extension at the top of the swing.

Tried this and also the feel of the force going into the inside of the heel on the backswing this week. For the first time in almost 4 years hit grst shots with all my clubs. Just wish I could chip and putt. I'm using Mike's chipping method and my chipping has improved slightly, but putting is killing me. 45 putts on Thursday. I've watched and tried Mike's method for putting, but it's not working for me.

I'm no Putting wizard but have you tried pacing out your lag putts (walking from your ball to the flag on the long putts). Even if you don't feel like you learn much your subconscious has a better idea of how far you need to commit to the stroke.

You better have PLENTY of body flexibility to properly play with a strong grip. You'll need way more rotation, and way more side bend through the ball. You better players out there will understand what I'm talking about.
@maeu592 жыл бұрын
This is not a strong grip it’s neutral for the way the arms hang, it’s just stronger than what he’s used to.
