"Yeah, baby, yeah!" Fun Fact: Mike Myers was inspired to write this movie after his father passed away. He had a lot of fond memories of watching '60s British spy movies with his dad as a kid, so he wrote this spoof as a tribute to the movies his dad loved so much. Also, they don't make comedies like this anymore, I really miss those years when everyone were allowed to make movies like this without anyone getting offended.
@CChissel
@CChissel Жыл бұрын
Oh no, people were offended, it’s just that the people in charge didn’t care and there was no way for those people to voice their complaints. But we have social media now, where anyone can broadcast a message out to the entire world, that’s the difference. People were as sensitive now as they were way back when, but they just couldn’t speak out.

@@CChissel Yep, pretty much. Also, people are so convinced it's some new recent switch in the human condition because they were told by older generations that it was all of a sudden. Really it's all linked to the rapid and wide spread ability to express any inner thoght at any given time. You could send the same thought on several platforms back to back to back with ease and now this particular narrative is reaching more audience, thus more people find it common and connect with it more easily. It's truly a shame that so many people can't see it. 😔

Hey guys, love this movie, a great Mike Myers classic, the other two movies are great as well. Fun fact: One of Mike Myers dads heroes was Sean Connery who played the original James Bond and Mike did this movie as a tribute to his dad and Sean. Also, Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan are huge fans of this movie and the series. I love the names of the villians, Alotta Fagina and Random Task, nods to Pussy Galore and Odd Job. The supporting cast is great too, Robert Wagner, Seth Green, Will Ferrel and even Tom Arnold are pretty funny. Great movie and it's one of my fav spoofs, besides the Airplane movies. Thanks for watching this great gem, so many memorable quotes, be sure to check out the whole trilogy.

It's mind-blowing to think that it's been a quarter century since this movie was released in theaters. Also, the #2 man with the patch was played by Robert Wagner, also extremely popular during the 60s-80s and beyond, and was once married to iconic Natalie Wood, a beloved American actress of Russian and Ukrainian descent, who started her career as a child actress and eventually transitioned into a beautiful woman who starred in a handful of classic movies before her tragic death in 1981 at the age of 43. This movie came out the same year as Blast from the Past. Which was about a suburban family locked in a fallout shelter during the Cuban Missile Crisis for 35 years. And stared Brendon Fraser and Alicia Silverstone. The trailers and T.V spots completely left out any of the James Bond Parody. So audiences where made to believe the movie was just a British version of Blast from the Past. The movie was just called Austin Powers in all promotional material; posters, T-shirts, you name it.

Hi - I'm British and I can confirm we do not lose our Britishness if we fix our teeth - Our love for tea makes sure they NEVER stay glow-in-the-dark-Hollywood-smile-white for long. ;-)

Always had a crush on Elizabeth Hurley. The earliest movie I've seen her in was Passenger 57.

Random Task and Allotta Vagina are plays on Odd Job and Pussy Galore, both from the movie Goldfinger who had a lethal hat he threw. A lot of the movie is a spoof on James Bond and "Our Man Flint" and a couple other 60's spy movies.

When I saw this in theaters and 97 a country group, had a song called shagging on the boulevard. It was funny hearing this at the theater beforehand because everyone knew powers used shag as a term for sex. No, the song was not intended to be about sex, but it was one of those double entendre things.

My family loved watching these movies when I was growing up. I would sometimes do the behind the couch movement gag and it was always funny.

I get how some people dislike your over-the-top reactions and commentary, but I personally think it's the best thing this channel does. It reminds me of watching movies with my younger brother. Sadly, I'll be going to college in a few months, so we won't be able to play video games together or watch movies or shows together nearly as often. We're sure as hell making it last though. We've been playing Smash Melee non-stop recently.

I remember seeing this in the theaters with my friends. This is one of the funniest movies. I think the second is actually funnier. And Dr Evil is hilarious. Also, as for how can he be a spy if he is so well known....it is actually common, or at least more common for celebrities to help gain intelligence because of their fame, it helped them gain access by invite from world leaders. I went to the spy museum in DC and if I remember correctly, there was a section all about it during the 50's and 60's using baseball players and actors/actresses. I mean, look at Dennis Rodman and how close he got to Kim Jon Un
