I went to Austin after Katrina and worked there for a year and a half. Where I worked was the place that developed the Electronic Health Record that I got to use which later got me a job back in Louisiana and put me on the path to being a project and program manager. I'm glad I got to see the last of old Austin which is sadly mostly gone now. A few hundred thousand more people live there now as well! Thanks for watching 👍😀

I have only been to San Antonio and Houston, but have always wanted to visit Austin. I think it was Richard Linkletter's movie "Slacker" -- his version of Austin seems very much like Portland during the same era.

I lived in Austin for a year and a half after Hurricane Katrina so I was able to see the last of old Austin before it was killed off. A definite lesson of what I don't want to happen to New Orleans and what I hate seeing happen to Nashville.

@@NOLAGent1 I lived in West Nashville up until 1995, and in NE Portland until 2000. When I went back to Nashville 5 years ago, I didn't recognize anything -- definitely no plans to ever visit again.

Finding an old school meat and three in Nashville has gotten hard sadly... Still some great happy hour deals amd a few spots holding... Everytime I go back though it is like a whole new city has been built! I really hate those skinny tall houses! I hate even more those wonky skinny houses are showing up all over NOLA now 😩

@@NOLAGent1 Yes, we have a skinny tall house going up diagonally across from us in Metairie. It blocks the sun, and looks very out of place. There are several, now, on the street.

I so hate them... I toured several when I was considering taking a job in Nashville and I hate them more from the inside which is saying a LOT as I already have lots of outside hate of them... I think it makes me a better person and keeps me warm at night to hate that offensive structural insult to aesthetics!
