You have to be in a VERY specific area to get a decent Goodwill experience at this point. Goodwill sucks so bad now. I used to go there for cheap things I couldn't afford elsewhere, now they want like $25 for a moldy coffee maker you can just buy in store brand new for cheaper. That business has gotten so insanely greedy.

most are still ok vs savers if you have them in your area they normally charge a ton more was at one today and found a set of 30$ walmart boots for 26$ with heavy scuffing and wear i partially blame all the people making goodwill and savers hual videos they tuaght the companies they were pricing things too low if others could make a profit after buying them, what is nuts is both companies get everything for absolutely nothing as almost everything is a donation so even at a dollar an item they would be making 100% return yes i know they have to pay electric employee wages and space rent but greed will be downfall of places like this

The disc tray mechanism probably breaks because people push the tray in instead of pushing the eject button a second time. I never knew people did that until recently, and it pains me to see people doing that. Just push the eject button, it's far less stress on the tray mechanism, and it easier.

@DJSekuHusky17 күн бұрын
My dad had one of those; also Smith Corona, but it had a flip up blue-bar screen (almost like a laptop screen) and it had the ability to save to 3.5" diskettes as well. The screen was about the size of 1/3 of a sheet of paper, and you could type to the buffer onboard and format your document with the display, then print afterward like a computer... only rapidly-hammering at a print-wheel like _Gatling gun_ style, rather than passing a nozzle back and forth like your typical inkjet printer. I got myself a thrifted Swintec 2410cc that I still use every now and then; I only got it because of the cool-looking crystal case (the "cc" version is see-through since it's meant for prisons, lol).

An extra goodwill tip: if an item is put up/ out for sale and it doesn't sell at the price they set after a month you can mention it/ ask about it and they can lower the price on the item. That is how I got a basically brand new towel warmer that they marked at $200 originally for only I think $40 or less. It was a while ago so I could be off on the price but it was a steal and I'm so glad an employee mentioned that they could do that when I originally saw it and mentioned wanting it This tip is more helpful in areas where good stuff stays around longer in the store and might not be possible at all locations or certain employees might not be able to reprice an item for you so don't be rude and demand that they have to do it. Also don't ask them to do it when there is a long line for the register and the store is busy

Mac tech here: Those old iMacs are touchy and weird. If everything else seems to be okay (seeing as it does boot with a new install) we can rule out ram since you upgraded. Put the old ram back in, and downgrade to snow leopard or a variance of it around that time. What most don’t realize is that high seirra back logs a crap ton of updates that can overload the older CPUs in older iMacs. Try the old RAM, and run snow leopard. If it doesnt work from there, it’s a board issue. Probably a small cap or connector, old dust and sitting can cause them to swell and leak.

usually its the little black rubber band that goes bad in the OG Xbox's cd drive mechanism, you can still buy the rubber bands for them and replace them. if you do own a og xbox and its an older system revision i recommend removing the clock capacitor from the motherboard as these are ticking time bombs and can leak all over the motherboard and cause corrosion damage. only early revision xboxs have this issue and it was fixed in a later revision, you will just have to find out which revision they fixed it on as i dont remember which one it was.

Surprised you don't know about the manual disk drive eject on the PS2 like the old cd roms have. OG Xbox has one also. One more thing I noticed, start trying both blue bottom discs and silver bottom discs when testing ps2 games. Sometimes those old PS2's just stop reading any blue bottom. It was a problem we used to run into when I worked at a local game store. We had to start always testing both to ensure it worked fully.
