@Chris Cabral yeah my home is the same. Maybe it's my Adhd but when I go on there I just get overwhelmed and say I'll organize it later. I would love it if they gave us an auto sort function for home and in games. I just feel like with a 1,000+ Pokémon they should consider it a necessary quality of life feature. I started with voilet because it's the most recent and I wanted my save file to be ready when the dlc comes. I have both versions of all the games we've got on switch so I can get the version exclusives but I think I'm gonna do these next: Pokemon Sheild + DLC > legends > Brilliant Diamond > Let's go Eevee and then work my way through the other versions after. hope your pokedex is coming along well. It's gonna be a while for me I think even though I do have a lot of time to play. 🫡

@@mywyd I’m trying to work on a living dex, but one thing I’m a lil stumpier on is how to properly get a lot of the mythical Pokémon, is it reliant on trading at this point?

@@CozyPawsRae Trading, GO, and waiting for events. They DO bring Mythicals back, but it takes a while. The closure of the 3DS eShop cut off quite a few. There were permanently obtainable shiny Mew, regular and shiny Celebi, and a Magearna. (Shiny Mew by glitching 1st gen VC games, Celebi was legitimately obtainable in VC Crystal, and could be shiny hunted, and Magerna is permanently available as a QR code scan in SM/USUM.) If you get all the Switch Pokemon games, then (shiny-locked) Arceus, Mew, Jirachi, Darkrai, and Shaymin are all permanently available. (Actually, I think shiny Arceus is permanently available, too.) You get shiny-locked Arceus from beating PLA, and you can get Darkrai and Shaymin in PLA by having save data for other Pokemon games. (I _think_ SwSh and BDSP). You get Mew and Jirachi in BDSP by having save data for LGPE and SwSh. You _also_ get a second Arceus in BDSP if you have a completed game save in PLA, and this is important because Arceus is NOT shiny-locked in BDSP. Darkrai and Shaymin were also not shiny-locked in BDSP, but their availability in BDSP was dependent on Mystery Gift events that are no longer active.

@@CozyPawsRae I might miss a couple here but I'm going to try to list all the ones you can still get, starting with the ones obtainable on switch: Mew is a gift from an NPC in Floaroma town in BDSP for having Lets Go save data, Jirachi is a gift from an NPC in Floaroma town in BDSP for having played SWSH, Manaphy, and Phione are obtainable in PLA by reading a book in the Canalave library in BDSP, which will unlock the quest in PLA, the Shaymin quest is obtainable post-game in PLA by having SWSH save data, the Darkrai quest in PLA is obtainable post-game by having BDSP save data, Arceus is obtainable by completing the Pokedex in PLA, Keldeo is obtainable in the Crown Tundra DLC in SWSH by catching the Swords of Justice, for the ones obtainable on 3DS (Pokemon Bank is required for these so if you didn't get it before the Eshop went down you cant get it unless you mod your 3DS): the GS ball for Celebi is obtainable post game in the 3DS VC Pokemon Crystal, (however if you don't already own crystal you cant get it cause Eshop went down unless you hack your 3DS), Deoxys is available post-game ORAS during the delta episode, Magearna is available post-game in SMUSUM by scanning its QR code (you can find it online), lastly in Pokemon Go you can catch a Meltan (don't really know how I don't play it) and you can obtain a Melmetal by transferring a Pokemon into home from go (so if you catch and transfer a Meltan you get its evolution as well), this leaves Victini, Meloetta, Genesect, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Marshadow, Zeraora, and Zarude you have to trade for, or hack your 3ds and install PKSM on it to inject the wondercards for the events in their respective games, which is considered legal though I'd understand if you wouldn't want to do that, or hack them in, which I wouldn't really recommend but it's an option, final option is just wait for the events to come back, I doubt Victini will be back anytime soon since it just had an event for VGC 2022, but you never know when they'll do an event for one again.

I've been working on my full high IV living Dex now for about a year and while I have about 70% of it done. mostly mythic/legendaries left over. this is gonna be useful to find out where to go for the rest of em. Replying to my own comment might be cringe but I thought it would be rude to edit it after AJP liked it. After looking through the spreadsheet, if I would add only one thing it would be a column that stated what game they Originally appeared in. I'm not so good with what gen is what,(i.e. gen 6 is pokemon X and Y ect.) so, I would personally find that information invaluable.

I've actually been working on something like this since X/Y came out too. My goal is to have a full living dex with either 5/6 IVs for all breedable mons, and as close to perfect as I can reasonably get with gift only/ legendaries. I also want everything in balls that match them, at least one in each line with hidden abilities, and four egg moves. Obviously some of those criteria can't apply to certain pokemon, so in those cases I just settle for what I can get.

I would say that you have no idea how much I appreciate this, but I have a feeling you understand just how valuable this is for people like us. I have my gen 1-8 living dex sorted out in Home rn but I wanted to expand it to a Form Living Dex and I was a bit daunted by the task. I was constantly using multiple tracking apps, plus using notes on my phone, PLUS writing out lists in a notebook. And I also wanted to make a shiny form living dex too because apparently I'm a masochist. (Though not enough of one to attempt shiny Manaphy. That is a huuuuuuuge nope.) Anyways, thank you so freaking much for all that you do for the Pokemon community.

Shiny Manaphy is really not that hard to acquire if you have two gen 4 games, two DS, and the willingness to learn how to RNG (it would take you a day or two tops). I know some people have a stance against RNG but the alternative is to shiny hunt for two years or just give up

I'm only 4 minutes in and I can already tell how much work went in to building something like this. I spent a few days making a very rudimentary version after I saw you show that you had one for your own home living dex a bit back. This one only showing box, column, row, dex number, variant (variant including form differences like gender, regional, shiny, and mega/g-max). I've been working on it on-and-off so I could keep better track of what pokemon forms I still need for it's completion. After finishing the video, I love it. Easy to keep track of every thing, and I absolutely appreciate the amount of work you put into this just to help the community even further than you already have. Thank you again for all the work you do in putting these videos and projects together!

This is awesome. However, I like to sort all of my regional variants in their own box/Boxes. That way im future proofing for when they add new regional variants I don’t have to move every single pokemon so everything is in the right order. I just tack the new ones onto the end and I’m good. It’s a lot less work.

Exactly how i did it too. One list for National Dex. Then separate boxes for regionals, sorted by that regions dex number. Separate box for Unowns. I havent bothered with forms or genders, because i honestly dont feel the need to do it.

This is an awesome resource - if I hadn't spent years already setting up my own one for working on my combined livingdex and shinydex I'd totally use this - thought I'd have to make a few modifications as I count battle bond greninja, own tempo rockruff and power construct zygarde as unique forms in mine. Plus I have a whole section dedicated to unboxable forms for all the ones that have a dex entry but you cannot physically have in Pokemon home (So all your fusions, battle forms and held item triggered forms)

I’m partway through making my own list and I’m putting forms at the end of the gen they were added in for example all the alolan forms are between the Alolan and Galarian pokemon so I won’t have to move everything when new forms are added but this will still massively help just having everything in one place instead of having to check which mons have gender differences etc.

Question. Are you putting different forms next to the standard (ex. Male and female Venusaur) or are you putting forms in separate boxes? I'm agonizing over this

@@tonybrewer7536 I put forms together with their base forms. I like looking at the pokemon together. The only downside is that when a new form is released you have to move all the other pokemon from that generation over. But that's something you only have to do once every few years. I also like putting the female pokemon first because numerically the female Nidoran line is before the male one.

@@tonybrewer7536 I do something similar to Austin John where I have my forms and gender variants together (ie Male Ratatta, Female Ratatta, Alolan Ratatta, Male Raticate, Female Raticate, Alolan Raticate). Only difference is that both Kantonian Ratattas and Raticates will be from Virtual Console Red and Blue while the Alolan Ratatta and Raticate are from Moon

Note that Home now tracks each game's pokedex too. So it is worth having a full SV live dex to transfer in if you want the Home dex to show a little crown next to that game.

I have my Living Form Dex almost entirely complete, but I'm going to use this going forward as it is so much more clean and convenient! The only thing I would change is something to keep track of moves and abilities, but I'll probably just create another sheet on my copy to do that.

Small tip from my end: don't fill the boxes completely. I.a.w. start your next box after f.e. 20 entries. If you start a new box after the full 30 entries and game freak adds a new Meowth form, you have to move about 1000 Pokemon 1 spot. At the start i filled all boxes up till 20 Pokemon before moving to the next, so i had room left for cap Pikachu's, Hisuian Forms and Paldean forms without shifting all other Pokemons.

This is why i put mine differently. All in order by National Dex number. Then separate boxes for Regionals. Separate box for Unowns etc. That way you dont end up with number 151 in your list not being Mew etc. All personal preference. Also, there are there are 8.5 billion spindas so i gave up on forms lol

HEADS UP: Gholdengo and Wo-Chien have the same location number on the spreadsheet (Page 2, Box 20, Number 14, Row 3, Slot 2). Thanks for all the hard work on this! I've been needing to sort my entire HOME for a while but it was always such a daunting task; this spreadsheet made it some much more simple!

Still personally a bigger fan of the Serebii one, since alternate forms/genders are in a different area. I like that more since the pokedex number is always the spot in the box, as well as futureproofing for any future forms not shifting EVERYTHING over by 1... BUT this is still by far the most detailed, and will be great as a freaking CRAZY good checklist for what I have, need to evolve, etc. Can't think of any way to make that element better. Great work!

Yea, would love a copy paste with all the extra alolan forms in the end. I don't wanna shift my entire collection to the right if we get a Alolan Nidoking. Also working on my full living form dex and really enjoyed your video. I also keep track of what region they came from indicated by the small icon next to each mon; for example the pentagon for all Gen 6 mon. Please do an updated video when SV is added or if you make changes to the sheet, I'm definitely interested.

I already have an organizational system for my pokemon home, but it's cool to see yours. Mine's just organizing by generation with the first two generations being grouped together (since I still have almost all of the games from Gen 3 onwards physically and the Gen 1 and 2 games on VC).

Thank you so much for this! My HOME has been a mess since I transferred up all of my pokemon from Bank years ago, and I've never wanted to release any of them in case I wanted them in the future. But I'm going to go for a full living form dex, and release the rest (and keep any that are super good stats/my favorite mons). Having a lot of fun organizing everything!

This is exactly how I organized my pokemon home during the pandemic! A point that I don't think you explained very much is that switching to a new box for each new generation makes it really easy to update just that one generation when a new form, etc. is added in a later game. At the very end of my living dex I also have a box of pokemon with battle forms -- which right now is mostly the various special gigantimax forms, along with transforming darmantian and greninja

This is a great resource. I completed my own Living Dex recently, was super satisfying. Personally I went with the Pokémon coming from games with their origin region (Pikachu from a Kanto game, Totodile from a Johto game, etc.)

Great info! Even as someone doing an all-forms living SHINYdex it reminded me of some that I forgot to account for on the shinylocked side.
