​@Xezukaful spoilers for everyone The light dragon lowers a little once memory quest is done. Makes it a little easier to get sword. I don't know if it stays this low after you get the sword. After deku quest, it lowers a lot. And I know that it stays lower permanently after deku quest even if you pull sword. If you leave sword in, the deku objective marker will allow you to find light dragon anywhere. Helpful till you've farmed what you want from it.

I figured I'd need to pump health eventually, I accidently had enough stamina cause there is just so much exploration and travel in this game that you have to pump stamina.

I had the same experience, Naydra was flying into the Kakariko Chasm and I tried farming a horn (at the time I thought the same mechanics from BOTW worked) and then Naydra basically froze me in place and I couldn't see were the Horn went. She's my favorite tho. Wonderful creatures dragons are!

Yeah its a neat feature that you don't take fall damage when landing on a dragon. However you can also use mineru to prevent fall damage when entering chasms or high places. Or you can just use the paraglider. WISELY or you'll get hit

Remember that the cycle of the Light Dragon gets reseted after you get the last geoglyph tear. Wherever she was before, she gets warped to above the Rist Peninsula (The spiral peninsula in the east)

That's what I've been recommending to anyone doing the Master Sword "early" method (skipping Korok Forest quest). Get all but the last geoglyph, get your stamina up to 2 rings, view last one, collect sword after viewing last tear spawned at the Rist Peninsula.

If you are fast enough you can grab the parts you shoot underneath the dragon by spamming A as soon as you hit the part. It doesn’t shoot away until a few seconds. I would recommend turning off Tulin summon, as he can blow the part away. You can always turn it back on when you get the part you need.

To be honest I like this new pattern. While trying to find them can be annoying, it is so fun to see them flying around. Since you can’t manipulate where they are I get more enjoyment out of seeing them. Then if that means I can ride of them I don’t mind. Riding the dragons is the coolest thing to me.

Death Mountain is a great spot to catch the light dragon. Just ascend from Sitsum shrine to the platform above it, which this spot overlooks two main points she travels both coming toward and wrapping around the mountain.

Also, at the base of Death Mountain on the side that same shrine is on, is a huge amount of Zonai parts. Enough to autobuild the air bike without wasting capsules, and just fly up to her. This only really applies later in the game when you have a greatly expanded battery though (and possibly the Zonai set).

Also in the north sky gerudo achipelago where the gravity island is at with the construct soldiers that shoot rockets. There are 2 rockets on each side of the island on the floating platforms. You can take the 4 rockets and attach and activate one by one until you reach above the dragon and with the help of the gravity you can easily land on the light dragon

I ran into Dinraal while exploring the area under skull lake and since i was on a high enough area I just got on him to see if I could get out of the depths that way, it was a very relaxing 10 minute ride.

I saw Naydra flying into the kakariko chasm early on, so I glided toward her to grab a part. Didn’t expect to be able to land on her! I ended up riding on her back for two cycles. It was absolutely wild. Not having unfreezable didn’t help!

I tried lighting a fire on Naydras back lol. It doesn’t make a campfire if u strike flint and wood, but the wood does get lit! For a long while too. So that’s a way u can stay warm if you don’t have the gear. You can light the wood again when it goes out.

If people are having problems with the light dragon and need to farm parts but are also doing the same thing for the other dragons. I highly recommend completing the Korok Forest event first. The Great Deku Tree will give you the location of the light dragon. It will always be on the map moving which means you will always know where the light dragon is and what path it is taking so whatever you do, do not pull the master sword if you are trying to easily Farm the light dragon after you do that the dragon's path gets reset. It no longer appears on your map, which means you will have to hunt for it.

I’ll be honest… for an outsider, looking at this channel from the surface, it looks like your average low quality entertainment video factory to grab clicks from casual players as the games are trending. And while there’s definitely some of that because that’s just kinda what youtubers have to do… I’m always so amazed at just how detailed and insightful Austin John’s Zelda tips videos are. I couldn’t possibly call them low quality in any way; even if I wanted to. The content doesn’t just copypaste stupid news articles or repeat whatever the game tells you. fun fact this is how i unintentionally did zoras domain first. with 5 hearts, 4 pieces of armor, three of them default armor, and almost no healing or cold resistance, i hopped onto naydra by kakariko chasm lol i was trying to go to rito. i failed. i had to cook via a portable pot WHILE ON NAYDRA to have enough cold resistance to not die 😂

Helpful tip if you want to collect the small shards plus a horn: Collect the horn FIRST. Then you can glide over the rest of the dragon faster (because you're both travelling in opposite directions) and also because it's easier to see the glowing shards when the spikes are not glowing. I was always landing on the tail, collecting shards then grabbing the horn from the head but today I realised it's much quicker the other way.

Worth mentioning, if you start the Master Sword quest but don’t get it, tracking the quest will give you the location of the light dragon in real time on your map, so I recommend farming all the pieces before grabbing the sword.

Prior to bringing the Light dragon down to 700 metres, you can also get on it from the Great Sky island where you start the game. If you look east towards Zonaite Forge island at the right time, you will see the Light dragon heading in your direction whilst climbing. At that point, if you have enough stamina you can glide onto it with relative ease.

This is basically what I did a few days ago lol. I spent about 2 hours riding on the snout of the light dragon to use hero’s path to find its flight path and in that time I got 10 light dragons parts. I was struggling to find the other dragon’s paths though. Awesome video as usual, Austin!

I was chasing a uhm certain item *cough* so I decided to pursue the Light Dragon, especially since I have seen it before, but was not able to recall the circumstances or places. And at some point I went to the highest accessible place and zoomed in on the far lands to locate it. Matter of luck, I happened to be at the starting sky island, right on top of it, and noticed the distinctive mark of the Light Dragon in the distance. With 3 stamina wheels inside my muscles and a couple of stamina restoration meals and potions inside my bag, I began slowly floating towards the Dragon, with the periodical assist from a certain cute hero of the Rito village. Alas, my reach was long enough to barely clutch on the Dragon's foot (so close, almost missed it and failed!!!). Slowly and carefully navigated the Light Dragon's topography until I reached the precious loot. Claimed it. Paused the game to recollect myself for a bit. What a moment in video games

Using this information I was able to time it right to score two parts from Naydra. I waited at the ascent point (the chasm west of Mount Lanayru). I waited at the chasm initially and she started soaring upwards and I was able to land on her face, waited until she was flying horizontal, and score a fang. Then, I set a timer for ~27 minutes, returned to the chasm and made a snack. After 27 minutes, she soon reappeared to ascend again and I scored a horn. Austin, THANK YOU for this! I have the info I need to score these dragon parts, and I can multitask while I wait. You rock, man. 😁

Tip for those farming the Light Dragon: If you happen to fall off when trying to get the Claw/Talon or Fangs, look to where the Dragon is going and teleport to the nearest Skyview Tower. Launch yourself from the tower and then glide over to the Dragon. As a bonus, this does respawn some of the Spike shards on it. As for the elemental dragons, I've yet to test that

I just found my first dragon lastnight, it was the lightning one and saw it coming out of the underground area. I went and did the tower and when I got launched up, she was right under me so I was able to land on her ended up staying her entire route, got tons of pics of videos 😅 also its a very good method of surveying the map and marking things.

I think the light dragon may drop after the Geoglyphs. I did all the Geoglyphs before going to the Korok Forest and on the way to finish up in the Rist Peninsula I landed on the light dragon and had enough stamina to do the thing. Later the Deku Tree gave me a quest that completed right away.

Thanks for the guide! I had no idea about the 10min cooldown period. I have been pretty lucky to find them in the same few places at around the same time I would go there and look for them, haha! I would usually catch Naydra and Farosh just coming out of the chasms, and Dinraal flying over Akkala Stables. The Light Dragon was the only one I knew had a route independant of time, but she's pretty easy to spot in the sky so I never had much trouble finding her.

Great vid, worked really well at finding all the dragons. One thing I would recommend for easier finding though is to work backwards. If you know the chasm she goes into, start there and follow the path backwards to the chasm she comes out of. Basically she's going towards you, instead of away from you, so you will eventually intercept her always. Just use something like a hoverbike so you can go in that direction. Hoverbikes are also great because the breaks you take to refill energy give the dragon time to move if they are underground. Using this method, you will ALWAYS find them above ground, usually within a min or two. I do this in Zonai Armor with max energy cells for the most uptime. You can spend a few charges also if you need since large charges can be easily duplicated using the dupe glitch.

Easiest way to farm dragon parts in 5 easy steps: 1. Locate a Dragon. 2. Land on its neck, just behind the back of its head so you can ride it around because they never despawn. 3. Shoot the piece you want. 4. Retrieve the piece you shot. 5. Remount the Dragon. Repeat steps 2-5.
