@Winds of March Journey/Perry tribute band You know, we live in Illinois about 50 miles away and I want to thank you for telling us the truth about the after effects of liposuction. My husband doesn't want me to go through this procedure because of the after effects of the procedure, especially that one could get an infection and you said that the fat could come back.It seems that even that you have a great doctor you could still have side effects from the procedure. But I personally thank you again for your complete honesty about liposuction. I already have chronic pain from a slipped disc and my legs are affected as well and I wake up in pain. I am given medications for my pain every day. I am nearly 52 and I am in greater risk for going through such a procedure. What you have said is a good thing so that others who are thinking of having liposuction may think twice before going through with it. Bless you and have a good week! Show less

What a lot of people don't understand that although the fat cells are removed in that area if you don't keep your weight down fat cells will grow in other areas which will make you look very unproportionate the best way is to exercise and diet the diet can be modified as well as the exercise nothing beats hard work there's too many variables and too many things that can go wrong with plastic surgery it's just not worth it

Hi! I've read that through liposuction lymphs nodules can be damaged which may cause lymphedema. Do you know about a case like this? Thanks.

Hi there. Liposuction is actually a recommended treatment for resistant lymphedema and can be used to debulk the fatty tissues surrounding lymphatic channels without damaging them.

Question Doctor...While I was researching the tumescent liposuction, I came across this wikipedia explanation: "While the suctioned fat cells are permanently gone, after a few months overall body fat generally returned to the same level as before treatment. This is despite maintaining the previous diet and exercise regimen...." I thought liposuction results are permanent...Can you please explain?

Hmm. Well, I'm no doctor but I would be careful to take wikipedia too seriously. So, from what I understand the idea behind liposuction is that the body only has a set number of fat cells. They can change in size, but not number. What we have is what we have. So the idea is that they remove some to contour and shape the body...and that with diet and exercise, the area liposuctioned, should stay different than it was before liposuction. As you stated "overall" body fat-which I took as a whole body view...could increase. But the area worked on should stay the same, or should grow proportionally to the rest of the body. They don't take all the fat away from the area. Example: if a woman's genetics make her predisposed to storing more fat on her hips than her butt...lipo should fix that. Now the hip area fat can grow less, foiling her bodies plans to build that area up extra. So it then has to store it in her butt or legs etc instead. Overall her body fat went up, but in the area worked on...it grew less. Atleast less than it would before lipo. Body fat loss or accumulation is based solely on calories eaten vs calories burnt. And, I believe, a law of physics states that matter cannot be created, only changed. So the calories in a peanut have to stay the calories of a peanut...they can't be magically changed to 10 times that amount. So you ask how can Wikipedia state that despite lipo, which is supposed to be permanent, do people still gain weight if they're following diet and exercise? Well....it doesn't sound like they are following the diet and exercise. If their body fat is increasing, then they're eating to much. AND, if lipo works the way the medical community tells me it should, the people gaining weight should still not be seeing as much weight gain in the area suctioned as they have before. Does all that make sense?
@honeybadgernasty3 жыл бұрын
@@Faq-ubeach yes, that makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to explain is so well. Great analogy btw. Much appreciated!⚘️

Say you get your lower abdomen done. Fat can no longer be stored there (at least subcutaneously). New fat will go to other places like the legs, arms, hips. The fat cells that exist in your body will increase in size to compensate for the lost abdomen fat cells. So what around fat cells that exist in your chest area, specificly around your heart? If these increase in size, could that cause a heart attack? What about other organs liver, kidneys etc?
@Austin-weston6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! The concept is that you get liposuction when you are at a stable and maintainable weight. If you maintain your weight, your other fat cells stay the same size and you don’t see any changes in other areas of the body. If you gain weight, you don’t usually get more fat cells. You just grow your current fat cells. This doesn’t affect your health any differently than if you had gained weight and not gotten liposuction.

What I learned is that fat cells amount on adult is more or less the same, they just change sizes. So you better hope that your doctor is good at handicraft, because they literally "sculpted" your body during the procedure and the fat cells that has been removed won't go back. So depending on your fat level post surgery, some parts of your body could look funny.

Had it done from a great guy in Chicago. It's very painful. You won't be able to move for about a week. It's expensive. Your body will still get old, sag, gain weight. Like all other women. Fat CAN come back. Trust me. I had whole body lipo. 10 grand better spent elsewhere, in retrospect. And I had a GOOD doctor :)

What's wrong is that somewhere in this life people have been brainwashed into believing your natural big what ever is not attractive. Skin deep is all it is. Work on your character instead of deceiving people what you really look like. If you want anything in life you have to work for it. Why spend thousands on a percedure that may cause you major health issues not to mention its not a permanent one. I lost 35 pounds by eating right that's cheap and drinking water only but lost the battle because l love great foods which mostly are bad for you but I know I can do it but who cares I'm a great person despite and I love being single and doing everything I did 35 lighter. My money is in my hands not in these doctors hand. You don't see these doctors doing it. Think about that.
