As far as impressions go, this guy is legit. People are crying 'he's no Mercury' etc etc, but you know, imitation is the highest form of flattery and this guy is not singing with the intent to supercede his biggest musical idol, but to emulate his greatness, which people clearly are appreciating. With that aside, the way this dude was just belts out those long notes, whether it sounded like Mercury or not, was still super smooth and sustained. The guy exceeded my expectation immensely.

The best Freddie I've heard. speaking as a professional singer, the only reason he doesn't sound as belty as Freddie is because his voice hasn't yet been wrecked from touring. He's singing well within his zone which makes it even more amazing. That last bit is so fluid and perfect, Freddie himself would be on his feet clapping.

I'd agree that he probably doesn't have the power of Mercury (who does?) but in this case, for this particular song, it actually works in his favor. As a huge fan of Mercury and this song in particular, I always felt like his version was over-sung and could have done with a little LESS power and energy. This guy nails it imho. He stays true with being in the style of Mercury, but performs the song with the subtlety and sadness that it really should be.

When you sing from the lungs the full power of your voice is pushed into your voice box where it gains control and hits the notes. When you sing from the throat the sound comes from your voice box and then your throat makes the notes. Singing from your lungs gives a much more powerful sound to your voice.
